What do you expect from a beer garden .... Yes, and now top that, as you will get the atmosphere of the Vienna Prater, the best Pork knuckling ever , the crackling is just unbelievable, and the best beer in the world. The original Czech Budweiser. As a Family tradition it is drafted with air... and that makes it even... More

Make sure somebody helps you finish the pork knuckle!! Very moist and crunchy on the outside but an enormous helping. Wonderful atmosphere, inside the amusement park. May be hard to locate but be patient and you'll be rewarded

If you are visiting Vienna and haven't been to Schweizerhaus you have missed a big part of Vienna. Could not have had more fun or a more enjoyable meal. Very friendly, very affordable, great service, and lots of fun! Order at least ONE special, more than enough for two to share. Just sit back and enjoy

This place is an institution in Vienna and hence can get rather crowdy. Should you manage to get a place in the beer garden, do not hesitate to order a Schweinsstelze (knuckle of pork), its specialty. Bring a big appetite or a bunch of friends though and do not expect to also get some veggies with your pork. And try,... More

A perfect evening outing for us -- we had a few beers, a big pork knuckle, some tangy salad, and the house portatos. After spending so much time in museums and churches, it was nice to be hanging out in a place with so many regular, working-class people -- as well as tourists, Japanese businessmen, and local teens.

Looking for an authentic German beer garden in Vienna you found your spot. With great beer, food and atmosphere you will love this place. Located in the corner of the permanent amusement park the beer garden has been around since 1766 and they know there stuff. As you sit down your handed a beer. You can also order weissbier or... A traditional Bier-Garten with classic Austrian food inside the Prater. The diamond in the menu is the Famous Stezle, a roasted Pork Knuckle ("Ham Hock") weighing over three pounds, served the traditional Austrian way with a side salad of cabbage, freshly grated horseradish, pickled chilles plus brown mustard. Roasted to perfection on the outside, leaving a crackly shell to seal... More
