We visited Prater Park late in the season, so many of the rides were closed -- I could tell my friend was a bit nervous about the likely quality of the restaurant as we made our way through a spooky, half-closed amusement park after sunset. I had been here the year before, so I knew it was going to be... More

A fun evening at the beer garden. As the description implies this is an outdoor facility so watch the weather. It isn't fancy just plastic tables and chairs but you are there for the beer and food. When you open the menu the first thing you see is the house specialty Stelze. It looks like a large lump of meat... More

Came across this restaurant whilst strolling around free entry Prater amusement park.A long established restaurant with open air indoor restaurant. When I arrived it was almost full but I was quickly found a table and given a menu.Everyone seemed to be eating either giant sausages or the speciality of the house roast pork knuckle for 16.20 euro at 2.2kilos in weight... Schweizerhaus is placed in Prater amusement park. During our stay Schweizerhaus was full while other Biergartens into Prater were half empty. This is huge restaurant with hundred of guests. First this that we noticed is that waiter came same minute when we seat on the table. He took order for drink and two minutes later voila, drinks are not the... More

We went to the Schweizerhaus on our trip to the Vienna prater as it was recommended to us by someone who used to live in Vienna for a couple of years. We were told that we should try the beer as it is drafted with nitrogen instead being carbonated and the pork knuckle. We didn't try the pork knuckle as... More

This place is an institution in Wien. It is not fancy by any means, but sitting in authentic beer garden sipping on a stein of Austrian beer whilst chowing down on a huge pork knuckle is a fun experience. Yes it is in a theme park, but so what - live a little and enjoy your visit. I highly recommend... More

I came to this restaurant expecting nice, German cuisine with a Biergarten atmosphere. The location should have been a red flag (in a theme park), but we went there anyway. The food was cheap in price and low in quality, and there were only several different types of beer offered. I wouldn't recommend this for those looking for authentic German/Austrian... More
