The OPUS is the new gourmet address in Vienna - which accounts for artistic creativity and culinary delight in Imperial harmony. Josef Hoffmann landmarked Viennese architectural style of the '30s hits in OPUS at Zeitgeist. How can lovingly restored furniture in historical order directing the ornate wood paneling an almost magical feel arise, and fine fabrics provide soothing color accents. Select menus and wine lists, with consistently matching design, seductive delights and fine wines for an evening enchantment all your senses. Exquisitely light Austrian cuisine inspired by global trends to choose from, served playful and served with a modern interpretation. With emphasis on quality local produce and thanks to extraordinary creativity and aesthetics every meal is an experience - this is lobster, turbot or pigeon. The culinary handwriting of the new Sous Chef Stefan Speiser stands for innovation and superior quality.

For my birthday on Dec 20th we booked an evening table for 3 of us. The choice of just 3 menus meant it was a fairly easy decision making process. The selection of amuse bouches beforehand were a true delight. The subsequent 4 courses were also immensely enjoyable. In a restaurant that was half full and the service was efficient... More

Located in the Imperial Hotel, this beautiful dining room offers Michelin star quality food in an elegant and relaxed setting. Creative and artfully presented food provides a respite from usual heavier Austrian fare. Menu consists of modernized classic Austrian choices with international touches to a true international cuisine. The four course dinner is preceded by several "amuse bouche" selections and... More

I still miss the old Imperial restaurant here, but the new Opus restaurant is definitely worth a visit. You are seated comfortably and able to enjoy the reasonable priced tasting menus where the big plus is the fact, that you are able to choose individually from their three menus: The Opus menu, the Imperial menu and the vegetarian menu. The... More

Ambience very modern, liked the old Imperial- Restaurant better. On a Saturday evening the place was at first packed with pre-theater dinner guests, after their departure it was almost empty for the rest of the evening. Food and service were good the prices reasonable.

We had a fabulous dinner during our city trip. A small restaurant in an extremely nice hotel. The restaurant was fairly small, the service was great and classy. Fabulous food with nice Austrian wines. Not cheap bur absolutely worth the money.

It is a shame that on a Friday night this small upscale restaurant had only 2 tables eating. The service is exceptional, the food is fine and the deserts are excellent. Shame about the ambience which is kind of dead. Expensive.

This restaurant is the Main Restaurant of the world famous Hotel Imperial. This fine restaurant outshines 95% of the Viennese cooking scene . Innovative ideas ,perfectly blended ingredients , lots of surprising combinations. A perfect place for a special event.

If you like food that gets a Michelin star or 2, you will love this place. Brilliant service, really personal and showing love and respect for the food. Nice wine recommendation, not over-priced. Lots of little 'gifts from the chef' and inventive twists (like deep frozen balls of lettuce). The portions were sensibly small, but by the end I was... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
