Stylish setting with unusual food for Vienna

I like traditional Viennese food but the Albertina (and DO &CO's hotel restaurant at Stefansplatz) offer a change: a fusion of Asian and European flavours, with fresh sushi/sashimi preparation for you as well. Having been impressed when eating there in December with my daughter and son-in-law, we booked for the 2 of us last weekend. It doesn't disappoint. Very stylish... More

We went to the Albertina museum and afterwards decided to have lunch. The easiest way was to go to Do&Co, because it's located right there on the first floor. It was an amazing experience. We were sitting in the actual restaurant, not the cafe ( first tables with short menus) Everything was perfect: service and food. I will post pictures,... More

Had lunch here on 31st December. Sat at a table at the end of the restaurant between two big windows - orchids and feathers on table. We are risotto, lamb, chocolate pudding and cheese, washed down with different wines for each course (two of which were recommended and very good). Would highly recommend.

This is a sister restaurant to Do & Co in Stephanplatz and is well worth going to in my opinion. It is not necessarily a cheap venue but it is also not that expensive based on the quality of food, which when i visited offered a number of "homely" type options, both meat and fish. Not sure of the vegetarian... More

the view is great, the restaurant is nicely decorated, staff is attentive and friendly. the meals we had on December 31st lunch time were very disappointing and by far not as good as in the sister restaurant DO&CO Stephansplatz. The starters were fine(nice ripe Burrata, good Sushi rolls). BUT the main dishes: smallish Indian style prawns were leaning on a... More

Weeks before our visit we reserved a table for lunch on Christmas Eve, knowing that most places would be closed. We spent the morning at the wonderful Albertina Museum, then were delighted by the beautifully decorated DO&CO restaurant (within the museum but separate). The style is elegant and refined, modern art nouveau in gold and white and the clientele were... More

In Vienna, where the food is often very heavy, Do & Co was a welcome relief. We were lucky to get a table in this very popular bustling spot. Although the classic Viennese cuisine was offered, I asked the waitress for her suggestions on a lighter scale. She recommended the Dover sole which was excellent and the Filet Uruguay for... More

Was lucky enough to be able to squeeze in a reservation on a Saturday evening. Had a great table to see both the Vienna skyline and the chefs working in the open kitchen (sorry, as a foodie that’s always fun to watch). The waiter (fluent English) made a couple excellent suggestions and the meals were fantastic. We both started with... More

Another suggestion from our hotel's excellent concierge. A very modern restaurant with a young and very skilled staff. Waiting on was multi-lingual and perfectly attuned to our wants. Faultless attention to detail left nothing to be desired. I had Beef Teriyaki and my wife Chicken 65. Both superb. Having started with soup (my wife started with an enormous prawn salad)... More

We had a hot soup (beef broth), Sacher cake, and hot chocolate after a nice city walk. We were attended to by Mr Volkan, who was extremely friendly and cheerful. After the meal, we left but we forgot to take back our camera. The staff, Volkan, ran out in the rain to pass the camera back to us Mr Volkan... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
