Pleasant lunch

Our party of 4 stopped by in the early afternoon for a coffee/beer/light lunch/dessert break. The atmosphere was nice, the service good and the food good but not outstanding. A little pricey, but all-in-all a very pleasant way to spend an hour or so.

You must try check out this cafe when you're in Vienna. It's is located in the city center, so it will be hard to miss. Enjoy a traditional Viennese breakfast or one of the delicious coffees!

It is obvious that this is a well established restaurant with a winning menu and prime location, but for me this experience was overshadowed by the surly, uninviting attitude of the waiter. The food was delicious but the salad had too much dressing, drowning the rest of the ingredients.

I just got back from my first trip to Vienna. During that 5 days I went to this place during different times of the day. My first night in town I went there to dinner from a recommendation from the hotel. Although the first course was ok, the food was great, the location, just down from the Parliament and Palaces,... We were in this restaurant twice, because the food is very good, tipical austrian. We recommend the boiled beef with sausages, it was divine. Very good the hungarian goulash and the beef soup. Lovely the artigianal beers

Given, it is a traditional Viennese coffee house. Waiters in black, tiny tables, no rush at all, quiet, but $15 for 2 small cappuccinos of middling quality was too much. A tour guide and the hotel concierge recommended it, both saying it was expensive. Not clear what they see in it over other facilities.

Service is exemplary. Very friendly, polite and knowledgeable. Great selection of Viennese cuisine- all of the food was cooked supremely well. One of our guests also had tricky dietary issues which were handled extremely well- they really went the extra mile. The restaurant itself is very beautiful and wonderful when there is a person playing the piano. We went more... More

The restaurant looks very nice, clean, stylish and classy. The food was good, but it was not cheap. Overall, it was a god experience. I noticed that there were quite a few families with small children eating here, and also business men and women, with suits and laptops. It added to the classy sharp feeling.

We dropped in here as we were looking for a cafe that was central - we probably should have looked a bit further as while this had outstanding service and decent food, it probably cost about twice as much as we paid elsewhere in Vienna. Having said that, if you want an upscale experience (particularly if just for drinks), this... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
