Enjoyed the cafe and coffee

On Sunday not much open. This place was recommended by our hotel. My wife had an egg on cream spinach and potatoes. Very rich and good. I shared and had a latte. Looked like the schnitzel was being ordered around me and plenty of sweets.

I made a reservation for dinner at Cafe Landtmann for our first night in Vienna just in case, but as busy as it was they have so many outdoor tables that you probably could just walk up a get a table, at least on a Sunday evening. They also have a huge canopy to keep out the sun earlier in... More

Our 2 day quest for yummy sweat stuff ended at Landtmann's. Just accross from the City Hall (Rathaus) gardens (north of) Cremeschnitte - wonderfull!!! excellent service, seating comfort, location, vibe. Looks like they serve very good food too based on viewing the dishes served to the tables around us. Its Sunday afternoon and the place is packed.

We stopped here for a traditional café and cake. This we did and also read the newspapers provided on poles. We recommend this establishment. You can sit inside with AC or outside.

We only stated for a couple of drinks, so I cannot comment on the food. The service was slow to start but friendly once it began. Beer selection was ok. I liked the patio areas and the seating was comfortable. Convenient location.

Just the name itself was intriguing enough to make me stop in here, so we did. Had a lovely appetizer plate and a great cup of soup. I wanted to go light enough to have room for some eiskaffees. Had a chocolate and a coffee one that were both absolutely delightful. Service was friendly but not intrusive. It is definitely... More

Why people complain about table service in Vienna is beyond me! If you are traveling to Vienna, here's a bit of advice: Don't interpret Austrian politeness as rudeness. In fact, you may really appreciate the privacy and quiet while you enjoy your cake and tea at a cafe. I love the way waitstaff leave you to a snack and the... More

Unfortunately we visited the Landtmann the last day of our vacations. If we had visited it earlier we would defenitely go again. First of all the staff was amazing. The cakes were fresh and delicious and the coffee was excellent. We decided to sit indoors and we were satisfied dy the aristocratic atmosphere.

Good for coffee and lovely desserts. It is part of a serie of traditional cafés in Vienna. Apfelsrtudel, dobostorte, palaschinken always a special treat. Then go and visit Freud´s house, nearby, to feel less guilty about the all the sugar you ate.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
