Great little cafe!

We stopped in at this cafe to take a break and warm up a bit. We had coffee, tea and the apple strudel. Food other people got around us looked great! We would stop here again if we went back to Vienna.

What an experience! Travel back in time and be treated in style. Service was top notch, hot chocolate and strudel was to 'die' for.

Sercive and quality are average, prices very high (city center). Very comfortable seats outside at the wonderful Ringstraße. The cafe inside is quite traditional and nice. Viennese desserts are quite average in taste and quality (strudel, cakes, pies) and also overpriced. Not sure if they are mass produced (VERY common in Vienna). Really a place to go for the surrounding... More

Landmann used to be terribly stuffy, but is turning into one of my favourite places in Vienna because of the accommodating staff. The menu is very traditional, and you can eat almost anything you want any time of day, so if one member of your party wants a full dinner, another wants a cake, a third wants only coffee and... I came her with my girlfriend last weekend. We had a wonderful experience in this famous coffee house. We came for breakfast and enjoyed the freshly squeezed orange juice and some delicious bacon and eggs. My girlfriend went for the brioche breakfast and hands down, it was one of the best brioche I've ever tried! Next time when we are... More

This is one of the Viennas classical cafés with amazing deco and atmosphere. I definitely recommend sitting inside in the historical café hall where you can literally feel the spirit of the belle epoque. I went for dinner and I had fried chicken which was really good, glass of red wine, coffee (melange) and strudel with vanilla sauce (they bake... More

Choosing a coffee house in Vienna can be overwhelming--there are so many, most purporting to be the most "historic", "authentic", or something along those lines. If you're unsure, just give Landtmann a try. A stone's throw from the Rathaus, I enjoyed excellent coffee and strudel there. Sitting on the front patio (I was there in winter--glassed in), I had a... When we tried to make an advanced booking in one of the historical cafés in Vienna to celebrate our son’s 13th birthday, we faced a problem that many of them refused this request. Despite the fact, we explained that we are going to order not only desserts, but dinner with wine. Only Landtmann accepted our order by phone (on line... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
