Average tapas nice environment

Tapas were just average .. Staples like Gamas al ajillo and tortilla espanola were not outstanding. The price is alright though. Nice bar to chill in though

Typical tapas bar. Good, simple tapas, nice wine. Very friendly staff and good atmosphere. The bar has one significant problem - credit cards not accpeted. I spent around 20 minutes to find an appropriate cash withdrawal. One on the wall close to subway station refused my 2 cards (due to chiop mechanism). I found working cash withdrawal machine in the... More

Great service, very friendly! They speak English, German, and Spanish. Everything I have had on the menu has been fantastic. The paella was made fresh and was very flavorful with a lot of seafood. The sangria was also a great choice. No selection is a bad choice here. Authentic Spanish tapas!

I have been in Spain quite often, and my surprise was, that I found in Vienna something similar to a tapas bar, as in Spain, but much better Quality! Waiters need some more experience, like serving with a tray, an avoiding empty ways: bringing food or bevereges, and on the way back, removing empty glasses and dishes. But service sympathy... More

Dishes had: dates wrapped in bacon, the Jamon, prawns in Garlic butter, the Pisto (vegetable side dish), a Manchego with tomato sauce toast. All perfectly cooked, not fancy but scrumptious. The waitress was charming. The environment is not upscale, so I would not go there for a fancy date. But if your priority is excellent food at incredibly good prices,... More

El Rincon de Don Quijote is one of the best restaurants in Vienna; humble, funny, high quality food and friendly staff are some of its attributes that make it stand out among the others Spanish restaurants. I recommend everyone to come over to El Rincon de Don Quijote and enjoy its amazing tapas, drink a glass of excellent house wine... More

This place is great and with super nice people! I arrived during the closing time because i didn't know it was just opening at 18h, and they had the amiability to still receive me for lunch. If this wouldn't be good enough, the food was delicious and with a very good price! If you are at Vienna and you want... More

There are some tapas places in Vienna, but El Rincon de Don Quijote offers the real deal. The tapas at El Quijote are quite close to those offered in Spain. Most importantly, one can find the typical tapas (jamon, queso, croquetas…) but also regional tapas from Castile (the land of Don Quijote), such as pisto o pinchos morunos. The place... More

Very tasty tapas & a lovely tarta de queso! We had wanted to try something different from the courses served in the typical Austrian restaurants and so decided to give it a try. This is a cozy place that is run by a young and enthusiastic Spaniard who makes a personal approach to ensure that the customers are happy with... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
