I was there with a group of 10 VIPs and everybody enjoyed very much the food the welcome, the price of the bill. It was a great moment, we even went there the next evening, just for,the pleasure the taste and the dynamic of the place. If you are in Vienna make a detour, they have a terrace, are open... More

The hotel recommended this restaurant, and we were not disappointed. Service was great, the food well done. Not huge portions, but enough.

Our hotel was in the area and we were looking for something different then local or Italian food. We got a table for two without reservation at 8pm on Saturday night even though the restaurant was quite busy. We ordered the daily recommendations and loved it. My ras-el-hanout veggies were delicious, great idea. Mains range from 15 to 21 EUR.

Went here for dinner after recommendations from the owner of Weinfach vinothek (see separate review, great place). Had some mild but creamy and tasty manchego with olives and a really generous half portion of Iberico. Tasty start which left us a little worried we would make it through the meal. We did. Mains were a really interesting and tasty duck... More

Hans I'm Glueck I had really nice Valentine meal there. The decor is nice not to in you face, very minimal, especially liked the clock with the grand father body. We started with scallops topped with parmesan, tomato, onion relish (like relish) and mushroom and celery soup. The scallops were served in it shell and cooked just right, the relish gave... More

Very nice restaurant with very nice staff (again, not that comum in Vienna). Relaxed atmosphere, nice honest wine list with some wine by the glass options. Good sharing portion starters, then i went for the beef cheek and it was very nicely cooked and tasty. The wife went for some spinach canelonni and although nothing for out of this world... More

Overall enjoyable evening with reasonable value food. Celery soup was Luke warm and under-seasoned, prawns and chorizo tasty starter. Main courses enjoyable (dorado and pork). Nice atmosphere and staff. Overcharged drinks bill; 3 when we had 2. Reasonable value.

Hans im Glueck is a nice marriage of Austrian and Spanish cuisine. It boost a friendly atmosphere inside with informal staff proving professional and friendly service. Nice ambiance - urges you to stay for a while even after the dinner and sip a glass of Spanish wine... We ate: Cream of celery / Fish soup - Wow! Especially the fish... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
