This place was recommended to us by a tour guide, because we fancied something vegetarian after spending nearly two weeks eating meat-heavy central European food. The place did not disappoint. Actually, we got much more than we expected. The dishes were very creative and light and the presentation was just stunning. And we though the value was great when we... More

Refreshing lunch menu, great flexibility to compose the lunch you want. Good and broad selection of local wines and good advice (wine bar downstairs). Reasonably priced for a michelin star place, excellent service and ambience. Food itself very well prepared and pleasant delicate flavour without too much flair. If only there was more "flair"...

Went for dinner in a midweek evening. Simple and clean ambience. A Michelin star restaurant entirely devoted to vegetarian food is a singular and worthy enterprise. Exceptional quality ingredients and technique. Food beautifully presented and full of flavour. Service was average. Wine list overpriced. The overall experience was good, nevertheless they would have to improve to command the prices asked... More

Deep interested in vegetarian food I tried with my family this restaurant in "core" downtown of Wien, one of my favourite capital city of Europe. Everything was high level: location, food, dishes presentation, (austrian) wine and all the people working there. Very Well, go on like this.

Tian is a 1* Michelin Restaurant that is completely vegetarian! You can choose from a 4- or 6-course table d'hote menu option-one for each person. Or you can order a la carte which is a bit more expensive. The bread basket is served with a choice of two olive oils and one flaxseed oil. In our case, there was a... More

I came to Tian for lunch, for which they had a special two or three course menu. Starting with the bread I was impressed... Three selections of olive oil and organic garlic butter (which was delicious). For the meal, I ended up with two starters: avocado/quinoa salad and bamboo shoots with mushrooms. Both portions seemed small at first, but I... More

I was amazed to have found this restaurant on 10 mins walk from my hotel. It was recommended to me by the concierge desk as the best vegetarian restaurant in Vienna. I can say it was an amazing taste experience. A wonderful 9 course menu and every course was intriguing and intricate. The staff made is a lovely experience recommending... More

First things first - be sure to reserve a table if you want to eat here. We were initially turned away at lunch by the maitre d', but then were lucky enough to get a reservation for that same evening. There are truly not enough superlatives to do this place justice. The food was exceptional - from a point of... More

This was probably the most delicious (and most expensive) meal of my life. Although you can't really say it is value for money, when you see the skill and effort that must go into preparing these dishes, you can understand where the money goes.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
