Jummy - Steak Time

I love that place. Unfortunatly is the non-smoking area not really nice and espacially at the weekend reaaaaally crowded and so loud. Some tips: Reserve in advance - if you dont mind the smoke or you do smoke ask for a table left from the entrance. There a the nicest seats. If you want to sit in... read more

Well, the food is alright, but certainly not worth the prices (except for the steaks!). The restaurant is not airconditioned, which makes it unbearably hot in sommer. Also the little fan does not help a lot. It is extremely loud so that conversation gets really difficult. Btw, the chairs are terribly uncomfy for sitting in a long time. However the... More

We were recommended this out of town hotel by our concierge. It was a taxi trip away from the main streets of Vienna. It took ages to be seen and I voice others when the menu doesn't really know what language it wants to be in. It's 50% austrian and 50% english which is difficult when ordering. You get the... More

The "brother" restaurant of Bistrot Flatscher just about 100 meters away from Bistrot. The quality of food is excellent. I personally prefer the ambiance in the Bistrot since they have a cosy inner garden in their courtyard. Right now they still do have a quite big area for smokers which I do not like.

Let's start with the food. If you like steak, go! One of the best steaks I've ever had. The fries were fantastic, as was the steak tartar entrée, and the chocolate dessert. Really amazing - cannot fault it! Not too expensive either. You'd certainly pay a lot more in London. We went as our hotel as close by. Agreed about... More

I was really reflecting if i should give Flatschers 4 stars, but after so many great restaurants where we have been lately, i just can't. The service there deserves 10 stars. They are extremely polite, coordinated and read the wish from ones eyes. If i would rate according to the service i would give it 5 stars without thinking twice.... More

Crowded seating. Competent waiters, polite but not patronizing. People come here in the first place for steaks. Their beef comes from South America, which is not all that common in Vienna. We took a 1 kg Center Cut of Argentinian origin, medium-rare, which effectively fed four, as advertised. Beef was cooked flawlessly. Good selection of sauces and side dishes. I... More

I've been to Flatschers a few times now, and I've had mostly positive experiences. I tried both burger and steak and they were equally good. I ordered my steak medium and it was perfectly medium! There are a few good choices of side orders and the barbecue sauce is really delicious. However, if you need a table for two, you... More

I decided to try Flatschers after several friends told me that you could eat a great steak in this place: they were right! The starters are delicious, and the steaks are definitely worth the price..very tasty and the homemade potatoes are also very good. This is a well known place and it is constantly full, so you have to make... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
