UNDECIDED

Crowded seating. Competent waiters, polite but not patronizing. People come here in the first place for steaks. Their beef comes from South America, which is not all that common in Vienna. We took a 1 kg Center Cut of Argentinian origin, medium-rare, which effectively fed four, as advertised. Beef... read more

I've been to Flatschers a few times now, and I've had mostly positive experiences. I tried both burger and steak and they were equally good. I ordered my steak medium and it was perfectly medium! There are a few good choices of side orders and the barbecue sauce is really delicious. However, if you need a table for two, you... More

I decided to try Flatschers after several friends told me that you could eat a great steak in this place: they were right! The starters are delicious, and the steaks are definitely worth the price..very tasty and the homemade potatoes are also very good. This is a well known place and it is constantly full, so you have to make... More

The atmosphere was fantastic and this was my kind of burger joint. There are only 3 choices of burger on the menu but also many other things to choose from. It is reasonably priced but definitely not cheap. The burger i had was well worth it though.

The steak was one of the best i have ever eaten... Everything was great, desert,steak... Staff are very friendly and helpful. The place is very full, so you have to make a reservation before. Definetly one of the best steakhouses i have ever been...

I'd been recommended Flatschers for a great steak meal by a number of people and was keen to check it out. As I'd been told, the food didn't disappoint - the turf from my surf and turf was succulent and melt in the mouth with loads of flavour and the prawns were excellent with delicate flavours and a nice char... I had dinner at Flatschers three times: once with my family, once with my mother only, and once with my partner. The atmosphere was each time very good and relaxed, it's one of these crowded restaurants where people, of all ages, like to hang out and spend a nice evening. The manager is particularly friendly and makes sure guests have... More

As an American living in Vienna, I think they have the best burgers in Vienna. We frequent this place once every few months. The food is delicious. The service is ok, kind of used to crappy service in Austria, so it's a non issue. The dividing glass door between the smoking and non-smoking sections is a joke because it's always... More

If you want a good burger, especially a smoky one with bad service this is the place for you. And when I say smoky I mean it. Doesn't matter if you sit in the non-smoking area it'll be smoky, plus of course you have to walk through one of the smelliest bars I've been to in Vienna to get there.... More

I was excited to go to Flatschers after reading everyone's reviews online. But the experience was full of disappointments. Some are listed below. 1. We made reservation in 'non-smoking' section for 8 people, and had to wait 9 days for an opening. 2. The non-smoking section was separated by a glass wall with a constantly open door. 3. The waiter... More

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
