We read on Trip Advisor about this place and it was a minute walk from our hotel! This is where the locals go and it was typical Austrian food. We had the veal wiener schnitzel and a seafood terrine. Both came with salad and potatoes. The apple streusel with ice cream was great, but the price was even better!

As tourists, this restaurant was recommended by the hotel staff. We had not tasted Austrian food before but this was a pleasant surprise. We enjoyed the food thoroughly and service was good. The waiter took the trouble to recommend and describe each dish to us. The room was small and cosy and the decor was pleasant. Good atmosphere too.

Herlitschka is a traditional Austrian restaurant, the kind of place locals go to. It is located on a quiet side street between Stadtpark and the Belvedere. The outside seating is in a curious spot with stone arches, visually unusual and therefore interesting. Inside there are two rooms, the first seems more popular with locals and has a bit more character... More

We chanced on this after walking back from the Belvedere to town, and were pleasantly surprised to have tasty food and very good service. My husband was very taken with their goulash soup, and I enjoyed my open grilled cheese sandwich, with cranberry on an enormous slice of rye bread. Nice to find a place without tourists, but where they... More

Away from tourism (in fact we were the only ones in the non-smoking area). The soups were a nice surprise, and the Austrian Schnitzel was, as expected, a deep-fried-bread-crumps-covered steak. Not a big room for improvement there. 24?/person.

This is a nice place to go if you are nearby but not somewhere it is worth going out of your way to get to. The food is good solid austrian, and you can't go wrong with it. When I lived near there I used to go all the time. The near room has more character but is a smoking... More

We went there for some nice Austrian food in the evening, and we're not disappointed. We had a Vienna schnitzel, and some plaice. Both were good, and the potato salad were tasty as well. Additionally, we had apricot dumplings (nice), and some beer and wine. The waiter was friendly as well. We ended up paying around 50? for the two... More

Was staying at a nearby hotel and wanted authentic Austrian food. There were some larger, more modern, places nearby but this restaurant is so cute and the staff was excellent. Plus on a nice day or evening, as we had, you can eat outisde under a lovely archway. Food was wonderful. Of course Schnitzel and other local dishes. The waiters... More

Herlitschka is not the most luxurious place, but has a very good kitchen and great service, good and friendly stuff, that asks you about food and drinks not too often but also not too rearly, just in time when you need it. The place itselves is not fancy, but is more like a nice local pub. The restaurant is split... More

For authentic Viennese cuisine, don't hesitate to visit the Gastwirtshaft Herlitschka! No worries, they speak English and have English menus. Their goulash was savory deliciousness, the stew sauce was more like a thin curry with a slight kick and was absolutely wonderful. Their cordon blue was on the light side, like a wienerschnitzel with a bit of ham and a... More
