Good beer, nice atmosphere, average food

Visited as part of a group of friends, including a local one who recommended it. Cannot say a lot about the service, waiters seemed pleasant, but most of the orders went through a local friend. Food was ok, but nothing special to be honest, went for a classic, a small Vienna snitzel... read more

We really liked the beer garden area for dinner after an evening arrival into Vienna. Large menu selection, good service and good tasting food...not too mention good beers.

I thought this would have some good craft beers, but they were all pretty ordinary and our waiter knew nothing about the beers they were selling. The food was very ordinary, and in general the place look run down and unclean. Our waiter was very uninterested, we had to continually try and get his attention. We had pork schnitzel that... More

Best ribs i have ever eaten, the beer comes in a lot of flavors, including cannabis. It is perfect for when you want to eat out with a big group of friends. The prices were a big high though.

I adore this place. I have been in Vienna several times and every time I visit this restaurant. Usually we order their traditional spare ribs and beer (brewed here). Last year when we were on our vacation in Budapest, we visited Vienna for several hours and went to this restaurant. Also you can try other special dishes offered by their... More

Looked for a restaurant near our hotel on Tripadvisor and saw this one. Looked good from the outside, but did not live up to the comments. Waiter was way too busy and it was difficult to ask him questions or get waited on. Food was not very good and this was one of the worst of 9 dinners on our... More

The food was good but heavy for non-American tastes, which is to say, gourmands will appreciate it. Among this restaurant's charms are many old front pages of a humor magazine called "Der Floh" (the flea), whose purpose, apparently, is to irritate the pompous. We had several different beers there, all brewed on the premises in huge coppers, interesting in their... More

We found this place trough Tripadvisor and went there to have classical Austrian food, and we were not disappointed. The quality of food was average, but I must say the price was very convenient as we had lots of meat plates and a beer each and we just paid 16 euro per person. The setting is nice, even if they... Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
