Amazing Wiener schnitzel, poor service

7 Stern Brau seemed like a great local haunt and was one of the best meals of our trip. The Wiener schnitzel with potato salad (make sure you ask for cranberry sauce as this didn't come with it...didn't cost extra either!) was massive, delicious and reasonably well priced. There was a good... read more

The food here is upper end bar food and the beer here is nothing that I would complain about. I highly recommend their smoke beer (very tasty). Sit outside if you can, the feeling the mood... the ambiance is just lovely.

Warm, friendly atmosphere, coupled with incredible authentic Austrian food and beer. Staff were amiable and attentive. Will definitely return during our stay in Vienna.

We went in the bar and asked the waiter were we can seat, just for drinking beer. He said "no problem" and took us to a small table. After a few minutes he returned to take our order and when we didn't order food he made us move to the bar, and made us wait for him and didn't came... More

It was my first time to visit the place with my classmates. And I wasn't disappointed with the place, the service and of course the beer!!! We really had fun especially with the staff hospitality despite our Deutsch being limited and all, they were so understanding and fun!!! Shout out to Ricci who served our orders and was really cool.... More

The Rauchbier is a smokey bit of heaven. Rauchbier is truly one of the best beers I have ever had in any in the world. The Chilli beer has a super nice bit after it goes down. _The Marzen is a nice well balanced full body beer that is not too heavy. HANF is a very light beer that this... More

Went here for lunch and dinner on two separate weekdays. We had the goulash for lunch, which was supposed to be a smaller serving, but turned out to be quite large. For dinner, we had schnitzels, which were fine, but it's really the beer that's the main attraction here. The Dark Prague did its job, but the IPA was exquisite.... More

Located in a delightful district of West Vienna, this pub/restaurant can safely be recommended to any beer-lover. All the beers are brewed on the premises and if the two sampled are anything to go by they will be delicious. We arrived on a Wednesday evening around 7.00 and the place was packed but although we hadn't booked we were found... More

It is off the tourist track but worth tracking down. We arrived with no reservation, so the barman removed a reservation label from another table and let is in. The service was good. The food was large (a small schnitzel could have fed us both). The beer was excellent, best we had all trip.

Big group, small group, always outstanding service, time and accuracy of the request, good beers and various food that go along very well and in adequate quality and price, recommended.

Staying in Neubau

Neighborhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
