I booked a table from bookatable and it seemed like a miracle since it was always fully booked. We sat down at 8:30,ordered,and our dinner arrived one hour and a half later. The waiters seemed too busy to care that we were starving and didn't speak a word of English.I ordered gulasch and literally got 3 pieces of meat...the portions... More

Very pleasant dining experience. The food was excellent in a great atmosphere. The service was a little slow<it was crowded that night and we were a table of women. We were seated at a table inside a cavern type niche<private and pleasant. It was quite chilly that evening and the restaurant had a welcoming ambiance.

This restaurant is located beneath the Albertina and close to the Hofburg. It has a bar like feel as a first impression. You had to walk through a smokers bar to get to the restaurant which was off putting. The restaurant was packed and although it offered all day food service it consequently churned the meals out too quickly and... More

I came here before the opera for a quick Kalbschnitzel and a glass of wine. The service was extremely quick -- the food arrived even before the drink did, which was a new experience for me -- but it was nonetheless decent food and the quick service was just what I wanted before an opera. The vaulted ceilings make for... More

this restaurant is so special. it's like in a cellar. the enterance is just beside the stairs that you go up to Albertina's building (Augustinerstrabe 1). there is variety of food, good food, and the prices are resonable. when we've been there an accordionist was playing nice music. The atmosphere is superb. Don't miss it.

The only reason this restaurant is getting one points instead of none is that the food was actually not bad. Nothing to write home about either, but not bad. We went to Augustinerkeller on New Year's Day for dinner. The restaurant space itself is very nice, being situated in the vaults of a former monestary. But sadly, the service was... More

This restaurant was recommened to us by our hotel, and when we found it we realised we had walked past it many times. Its not immediately recognisable as a restaurant, and the entrance to it doesnt look very appealing, but once inside and you see how lovely it is inside, especially upstairs with the vaulted ceilings. The food was excellent,... More

We had some trouble to find this restaurant, near the opera. But just enter and then you have a large place, choice of seats and tables, and a fair service. Menu is typical and offer a large choice of meat in sauce. And also a reasonable price.

It's a very large cellar near the opera, with no so kind waiters. I had some kind of goulash which were OK but not great, and my friend had a smoked ham, which was very salty. We also found it a bit suspicious food came 2 minutes after we ordered it. Not bad after all, but there's much better in... More
