Nice dinner, relaxed, casual setting

We ordered the Vienna sausage, potato soup for appetizers and the schnitzel and entrecôte for main dishes. Not bad at all, especially schnitzel and entrecôte.

We loved everything about it. The food was delicious. The ambiance was great. I will eat there again next time I visit Vienna.

Three of us went to eat breakfast. A modest buffet with no chef for omelettes, etc was 41 Euros - THE MOST expensive in Vienna!! The Park Hyatt was way nicer with all the amenities for 33 Euros as was the Hotel De France for 26 - Both with much nicer service. If you are an American businessman -Do not... More

The three of us came to the Cafe Imperial in April, and the food was excellent. We had the a la carte menu and had the Schnitzel and it was probably the best Schnitzel we've ever had. The room was beautiful, with incredible chandeliers. The service was really good, the staff were fantastic and really helpful. Would recommend to anyone,... More

The place is not really attractive, but if you are interested in trying the Vienna speciality (a deep-fried breaded thin meat), that is the right place to go.

A concert would not be the same without a pre-meal at the cafe in the Imperial Hotel. The food is of the highest quality (for what it is) and the service and ambience are quite wonderful. Also recommended for Sundays when you are unable to find a good restaurant that you have not eaten at many times before.

The coffee was tasteless, to much water was inside. The ordered French Toast was only a few slices of bread, soaked in eggs, no sugar, or something else.. The taste was interesting, maybe the oil what they used for the frying wasn't clear, or there was also something else inside before.

Not overly stuffy -- but a the hotel itself is gorgeous. I especially liked the Imperial Torte. And the veal goulash is sublime.

I was deeply disappointed at the service here. After enjoying Coffee at the lobby, we decided to buy the Imperial Torte to go. When I ask it to a guy in a long coat (looked like a chief or manager, anyway senior), he just told me "there isn't a box for that now." Then I looked into a different part... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
