Viennese cafe

Lovely cafe whose decor suits the Imperial hotel. There is a special cake they make, that is marzipan and chocolate in a nice cube shape. The coffee was also good. There was excellent service, and the prices are comparable with nearby cafes. Make sure to visit the lobby and restrooms to... read more

I visited during a business trip and it was my first visit to a viennese cafe. Since I had no prior comparator, I found the schnitzel to be amazing!! The service was generally polite (apart from their manager), while the atmosphere was just OK, no spectacular decorations.

My wife and I ate lunch here on a recent weekday afternoon. It was very enjoyable. My wife ordered the Tafelspitz and I had the Scnitzel. Both dishes were very good. Desert was excellent as well. Nice room in the beautiful Hotel Imperial. A solid Vienna choice.

We ordered the Vienna sausage, potato soup for appetizers and the schnitzel and entrecôte for main dishes. Not bad at all, especially schnitzel and entrecôte.

Three of us went to eat breakfast. A modest buffet with no chef for omelettes, etc was 41 Euros - THE MOST expensive in Vienna!! The Park Hyatt was way nicer with all the amenities for 33 Euros as was the Hotel De France for 26 - Both with much nicer service. If you are an American businessman -Do not... More

The three of us came to the Cafe Imperial in April, and the food was excellent. We had the a la carte menu and had the Schnitzel and it was probably the best Schnitzel we've ever had. The room was beautiful, with incredible chandeliers. The service was really good, the staff were fantastic and really helpful. Would recommend to anyone,... More

The place is not really attractive, but if you are interested in trying the Vienna speciality (a deep-fried breaded thin meat), that is the right place to go.

A concert would not be the same without a pre-meal at the cafe in the Imperial Hotel. The food is of the highest quality (for what it is) and the service and ambience are quite wonderful. Also recommended for Sundays when you are unable to find a good restaurant that you have not eaten at many times before.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
