Great Thai food

I have visited this place several times, before and after going to Thailand, as I really like Thai food. I have to say the food is excellent and definitely as close as it gets to eating Thai in Europe. Nice atmosphere and nice service. Place is always full, so it is not a bad idea to book.

I am Thai and I tried 2-3 Thai restaurants in Vienna. I was surprise that this restaurant is popular in Vienna. Actually, Thai food never has the menu of duck or crispy duck. It should be Chinese restaurant than Thai restaurant. I cannot touch any taste of Thai. My dish (fried basil leaves with pawn) was very salty, not spicy,... More

Very nice Thai food, cooked and served by friendly staff. Our plates were decorated with fresh orchids. The restaurant needs a refreshment and the walls painting...

I've been here only once but the food was great! Really nice atmosphere , quite , calm, great for family and dates. It's really close to the nashmarkt ( the most famous market in Vienna which is btw closed on Sunday)

After lots of Italian pizza pasta dinners we wanted to have something different . Seeing the high rating on trip advisor we opted for Bankok . And surely it did not disappoint at all . The atmosphere and decor was good though bit dark . We were welcomed warmly and service was immaculate. Special mention of the Thai soup with... More

We were here on Ascension Thursday, a national holiday in Austria, so many restaurants weren't open. We had been to This place two years ago and hoped it would be open. It was. The menu isn't the largest, but the food is quite good. We started with what they term poh piah. We're used to poh piah in Singapore, where... More

What can I say except that these guys deliver simply stunning Thai cuisine. Tom Yum, Papaya salad, Holy Basil Tofu.....loved it. As did the 4 other diners. If you are in Vienna and you fancy Thai then head here. Prices are reasonable too - €160 for 5 hungry adults which included 5 soups, 4 salads and 5 mains plus beers....

I've been living in Vienna for 8 years now and have visited every Thai restaurant that I have found - which aren't that many in Vienna. Bangkok is by far the best food. The place is warm with cosy atmosphere although it's not exactly a quiet place. Staff is efficient and somewhat friendly (I'd use very friendly if I were... More

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
