Very nice cafe. Great place to have a coffee and a cake. Apple cake was great. But be careful with timing ... they close at 10 pm sharp and do not accept orders as from 9,50 pm... which is summer is a bit early.

We loved Cafe Central and visited 3 times in our 4 days in Vienna. Each time we had something different and it was all delicious. The waiters were just the right amount of attentive, always making us feel we could stay as long as we wanted. And it is non-smoking, which is a real blessing here. Even indoors the food... More

We went to experience the old Vienna Cafe , this one they say is the best Vienna has to offer. It is indeed a beautiful cafe , of historical importance and one cannot help imagining how it was back in the day when going to a cafe was an outing in its own right and the thing to do .... More

Lovely historic cafe in Vienna's Inner Stadt, within two blocks of Spanish Riding School. Great for coffee, pastries, light breakfast. Beautiful interior. Amazing pastries. I've been several times on various trips to Vienna, and, certainly, Cafe Central can be somewhat busy with tourists, but not overly so; and, on last visit, on a Sunday morning, more locals than not, and... I visited this place with my girlfriend. You normally have to wait to be seated but it's not for a long time. The place is really astonishing, and traveled us back in the early 19th century. In certain hours of the day you can enjoy live waltz played in piano by their musicians. The only problem was that when we... More

I was surprised. I thought Vienna was one of the best and developed countries, but I was wrong. They never came to get our order even though we called five times while he got other orders with some disgusting smile. food was just okay but that was all. And even worse, they asked me for a tip. wowwww. I really had... More

This very old building is a "classic" old-style coffee house, and has been lovingly tendered. The atmosphere is incredible, very buzzy and the cakes are second to none. For a taste of old Vienna, you must pay a visit!

Famous cafe regularly frequented by Sigmund Freud and other famous Austrians (their menu lists them), as well as regulars, Lenin and Trotsky. Not mentioned however is their most-famous visitor, Mr Adolf Hitler, who certainly took a drink or two there.
