The Café Central has had a long and glorious history. It is still lovely to look at. Two years ago I had a wonderful dibner here. But on my most recent trip, I brought a friend and we were sorely disappointed: The service has lost its Austrian finesse and has become slovenly. We ordered soup, and waited 45-60 minutes for... Breakfast was very reasonably priced and delicious. Service was great! They sell gluten free goodies as well.

The apple strudel was excellent. They had a very interesting salad with potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce and a vinegar dressing. The veal was also very good The food in Vienna does tend to be a little bland, especially if you like spicy food.

Maybe we were unlucky, but we have been really disappointed by the poor service in a place like that. If you would like to be appreciated as one on the most fashion places in Vienna, well customer service has to be adequate! In particular considering prices which are not definitely cheap. We have found better places in Vienna

Old world cafe with loads of charm and historic ambiance. Enjoyed real Viennese coffee (delicious), potato soup, and several dessert samples. Great place to unwind, people-watch, soak in the local culture, and indulge your sweet tooth. Excellent service throughout. Don't miss it when in Vienna.

If you've got a sweet tooth, then you should definitely pay this cafe a visit. It's rather understated from the outside, but very grand inside, with a wide selection of tasty (and very fancy) cakes. It is a little pricey, but not as bad as some other cafés in European capitals - think of what you'd be paying in a... More

We stood in the row for ten minutes. It is a beautifull place, nice ambiance, the small cakes looked and tasted great and the coffee was average. Someone was playing the piano, which also contributed to the atmosphere. However it was very touristic and the waiters were quite rude and impatient. A onetime visit is ok, but I wouldn't go... More

Loved the coffee and the ambience - definitely a cafe to visit when in Vienna! Service is efficient and polite, and the old cafe decor offered a lovely atmosphere. Enjoyed a Maria Theresia Coffee and the milchrahmstrudel.
