Very nice old fashioned cafe with worn out sofas, large choice of newspapers and almost only local customers. Average food, good dessert

A mix of locals and a few tourists. The locals were clearly regulars as greeted by the staff. Staff were friendly and helpful.

We found this place as we were wandering the city and decided to stop for a coffee, attracted by the large windows and old style decor. The atmosphere inside was good with cosy booths available in the windows. We each ordered a large coffee but were disappointed when a decent size cup arrived but it was only half full! I... More

The Eiles is one of the original cafes and because it's a 10 minute walk from the Ring, is not as popular as some of the others. It can probably accommodate about 200 people, but the booths for seating, warm temperature and warm staff make it seem cosy. The food is not fancy, but it is good value (pork Schnitzel... More

I can imagine that this place had some appeal, 20 years ago. Now it's just a place with very tired flooring, furniture, fixtures... it is to the point that it looks dirty. Big menu of local foodi tems; unfortunately it is not prepared fresh: they do have a microwave and are using it. The entire place needs to be renovated... More

We just popped in for shot chocolate to warm up. The service was good, and friendly and the chocolate excellent. Comfortable and cosy old style European cafe and much more atmosphere than modern style. Very close to the Rathaus and the Xmas markets.

Really good breakfast at Eiles this morning. We went in a group of 11 people and service was really good. Varied choices and excellent value for money. This was our second visit for breakfast within the last couple of months. The first having been just as good!

Waitress went for being rather hostile to very amusing. We were 6 people but only offered 5 glasses as that's all she had. Avoided the food as the place looked pretty basic, dirty but the wine was very nice..

Large and comfortable Viennese coffee-house. Varied menu. We just stopped a couple of times for a coffee and cake. The food and cakes on offer were ordinary but this place has atmosphere so you can try and imagine Vienna a hundred years ago. And now with free wi-fi !!

We stopped here for a coffee and sachertorte cake as it was a traditional looking cafe. The coffee was ok, but overpriced. The cake was dry - definitely didn't taste fresh, and the waiter suggested creme to go with it. However he neglected to mention it would cost an extra €1.50, which we soon found out about when he brought... More
