Took the 38 to Grinzing (the Vienna Woods), then the 38a to Cobenzl on a very hot day. Found this cafe at the top to be a perfect place to sit and enjoy the hazy view of the city and one of the best Apple strudels. Could sit inside and enjoy the gentleman playing the piano, or choose an outside... More

Beeing a local to Vienna, I can really say, that you will have a very nice view up here. However: The service level is really annoying, the quality of food has seen a steady decline to a point, where it really is getting disgusting. The poor food paired with low quality of service and a high price tag is already... More

We waited for a waiter to come for 20 minutes to serve us, and we waren't the only ones regarding this problem. Finaly we had to quit and go. It's a shame that we couldn t find the owner there to tell him how rude is reacting his staff when u have the guts to complain about them doing nothing.There... More

Me and my boyfriend decided to go here today, we didnt expect much, because of some reviews and the fact that is a turistic place. And i have to say we were happily surprised with the experience. First of all the view is just amazing, especially on days that the sky is bright blue...you will get lost on the city... More

Our bus driver actually recommended the Cobenzl Cafe-Restaurant for dinner. Because it was early evening, we enjoyed the view of Vienna by daylight and then ooed and awed as night fell and the lights of the city sparkled like jewels below us. The caretaker of the property, Mr. Auer, was a charming gentlemen who visited with us and told us... More

Want to tarry over a nice meal, or even just some coffee or ice cream, while looking out at the city of Vienna from a 1500-foot bluff? Well this would be the place. The cafe sits right at the edge and allows indoor and outdoor seating. From your table you can see Vienna all the way to the horizon plus... More

For a days activity we took the tram out of Vienna and finished up at Cobenzl. Even though it was mid afternoon, we decided to go in and treat ourselves to a schnitzel. I ordered the mushroomed schnitzel while my wife ordered the regular veal schnitzel. We both agreed that they were some of the best schnitzels we have ever... More

The restaurant is beautifully situated and has panoramic view of Vienna, down below. We just stopped there to enjoy the view but, being hungry, ordered an early dinner as well. It was more than good. Choice of variety of soups, Wiener Schnitzel, Tafelspitz (known in US as "chicken steak") followed by home made, excellent Apfelstrudel (local apple pie) and espresso.... More

Staying in Dobling

Neighborhood Profile
Dobling
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
