Had the fish set menu, the beetroot souffle starter was excellent. The catfish was over cooked and coated with seasoning which overpowered the fish. The dessert was strange. Two of us had cheese which were all rather similar, soft ones and we had to ask for an explanation of them. Options for vegetarians available. We had the recommended wines with... More

I had lunch here, and the food was delicious. It was nice to see mostly vegetarian options at a fancier place. The prices aren't cheap, but they're not particularly expensive either. The service was pretty good- only complaint is that (because I was solo) I was seated at a table right by the door, which in November was a little... More

It is a perfect restaurant for everyone since they had vegan, vegetarian and meat options. The food is outstanding and the service as good.

We told our elderly Viennese friend that we were going to a vegetarian restaurant - her immediate reaction was "oh dear", which rather sums up the Austrian view that meat is necessary to life. What they are missing out on! I'm not a veggie but enjoy it from time to time and this restaurant combines ingredients to great effect. Tofu... More

Superb food. A stunning menu of sophisticated organic, vegetarian, vegan, and fish dishes many with an unusual gourmet twist. Set menu, or a la carte options. Plenty of choices for non vegetarians. Less expensive lunch menu. Friendly, spotlessly clean, meticulous attention to detail. And such unusual and beautiful vegetarian food - we were spoiled for choice. If you don’t eat... More

This is one restaurant that is definitely worth visiting. The set menu was flexible and carefully designed to cater for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Being a vegetarian, there was a full page of items for me to choose from, just so spolit by choices which unlike the other restaurants' menu which tried to be vegetarian friendly by offering either... I came to this restaurant 7 jears ago before being on Tripadvisor and liked it very much. Yesterday after such a long time I can confirm my first impressions. Elegant ambiente, cultural touch and great food, not just for vegetarians but for all (they have also fish alternatives). I had the 3 course menu and all courses were excellent from... More

Whilst the food & service were both good, we were unfortunately relegated to the 'back room' where there were no other diners and therefore there was no atmosphere whatsoever - a shame as it looked pleasant in the main part of the restaurant!

Lebenbauer is a classic among organic restaurants in Vienna. They are very consistent, have always offered high quality food, don't believe in making big steps, but little by little they have improved over the years. The best deals are to be had at lunch time. A three course vegetarian menu will set you back 12 Euros, but is worth every... More

We decided to eat at Lebenbauer because of these great reviews here. But we were greatly disappointed after eating there. Of course food is the most important aspect of a restaurant and it was good, don't get me wrong, but there wasn't enough of it to take away our hunger and it was very expensive. Also, the staff took ages... More
