We booked a table at Lebenbauer Vollwert Restaurant for our trip to Vienna since we read good things about this vegetarian restaurant. We were impressed by the atmosphere and the nice service, but less impressed by the food. The soup was really nice, but the main course and dessert were rather average. Certainly not bad, but not great either. The... More

If you are vegan and come here, specify no butter or cheese. I asked if my dish was vegan and the reply was yes, but my "brown rice, tofu, and avocado" dish came out in a pool of butter and cheese shredded and mixed into the rice. A little disappointed, but maybe I should have been more specific. I really... More

Just arrived in Vienna and stumbled from our hotel looking for somewhere to eat. Lebenbauer was welcoming even though it was a little late in the evening. Pleasant surroundings with fellow diners who obviously were happy being there. A varied, and rather unusual menu (pleasantly so) - vegan and vegetarian options, with some Thai, amongst other, influences. The dishes were... More

The meal we had was delightful, from every point of view. The Food was imaginative, delicious and beautifully served. My first course of a quinoa tartare was unusual; the dorade fish was prepared to perfection. The cost for two people, without wine or other drinks, was 63 euros.Highly recommended.

was very happy to find a restaraunt in Vienna who didn't shy away when I asked about Gluten free options. Had lveoly fish, meat and vegetarian options and assured me they understood GF needs. Was a lvoely, tasy meal without the stress!

Had the fish set menu, the beetroot souffle starter was excellent. The catfish was over cooked and coated with seasoning which overpowered the fish. The dessert was strange. Two of us had cheese which were all rather similar, soft ones and we had to ask for an explanation of them. Options for vegetarians available. We had the recommended wines with... More

I had lunch here, and the food was delicious. It was nice to see mostly vegetarian options at a fancier place. The prices aren't cheap, but they're not particularly expensive either. The service was pretty good- only complaint is that (because I was solo) I was seated at a table right by the door, which in November was a little... More

We told our elderly Viennese friend that we were going to a vegetarian restaurant - her immediate reaction was "oh dear", which rather sums up the Austrian view that meat is necessary to life. What they are missing out on! I'm not a veggie but enjoy it from time to time and this restaurant combines ingredients to great effect. Tofu... More

Superb food. A stunning menu of sophisticated organic, vegetarian, vegan, and fish dishes many with an unusual gourmet twist. Set menu, or a la carte options. Plenty of choices for non vegetarians. Less expensive lunch menu. Friendly, spotlessly clean, meticulous attention to detail. And such unusual and beautiful vegetarian food - we were spoiled for choice. If you don’t eat... More
