Good service and authentic Austrian food

Sunday night and many restaurants in Vienna were closed when a local, who helped us with directions, recommended this place. The waiter spoke excellent English and explained the "zwickel" beer meant unfiltered. I tried it and enjoyed it along with a very acceptable house red wine. Both my wife... read more

Within walking distance of many of the palaces, the Cathedral and the Opera house in the old city is this great little restaurant. There are actually three Huth restaurants right across the street from one another. One is Italian, one is a steak house and our favorite is the traditional one. We shared an order of the best lightly breaded,... More

Last night in Vienna, very hot this summer, so after a visit to Schonbrunn and long walks in center of town our family wanted to have a relaxing Sunday dinner. The Hotel Imperial sent us the place I am reviewing, the Huth Gastwirtschaft, seems like this is a mixed review of a couple of Huths, we saw three of them... More

This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the hotel in response to my request for an authentic Austrian restaurant that was not too trendy, not too touristy and not too expensive. Huth fit the bill in every respect. DELICIOUS wiener schnitzel with cranberry preserves. The waitstaff is a bit snarky, but other than that a perfect experience.

Superior: we were referred by a walking tour guide. Wonderful appetizers, salads, chicken, wine and beer, with attentive and friendly service. Also has a courtyard, but with 38 C temperatures outside, the a.c. was preferable.

The hotel concierge recommended this restaurant since we wanted authentic Austrian food. The restaurant was within a few blocks from our hotel. We ate outside as well as in several times during our stay in Austria. We kept returning because the food and service were excellent. Other restaurants were visited but service or food was not as good as Huth's!... More

Both my tour company and the hotel concierge recommended this restaurant when we told them we wanted authentic Austrian food. It is located in a quiet neighborhood within the Kartner Ring in Old Vienna. We opted to eat outdoors even though it was warm because we were told that The air conditioning inside was no better. After perusing the menu... More

I hear tourists complain about hostility but I do not agree. If you want to experience hospitality of Austrians they should visit this restaurant. Very friendly staff and very delicious food. I tried beef tongue and head of the pork for starter and fish for main dish.

Travelling in Vienna and came across this place. It was a super hot day yet again and were looking for a place that had air conditioning. This restaurant clearly advertised air conditioning on the outside board - thank you!!! When we went in, there weren't a lot of people surprisingly but the food was spectacular. I have allergies to nuts... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
