A true Vienna restaurant

With only 10-12 tables is small, but its like having dinner in a friends home. True to its name the walls have cuckoo clocks that add a home like atmosphere as they cuckoo in the background. The food and service were great and being in the center of the city, its easy to get there.

Booked to dine here on Christmas Eve. Whe I first contatced them they were booked out for the time we requested but placed us on a waiting list. Just before we left Ireland they emailed us to say they had a cancellation - I was very impressed. On the night they had 4 sittings. While we had a short wait... More

We had a Reservation for yesterday at 10:30 pm after a Theater Performance. They accepted the Reservation and asked for a phone number. When we came there, guess: the Restaurant was closed and nobody called before to inform us. My idea is that is/was the first step in the direction of bankruptcy. So when you are hungry, take another choice... More

Really cute restaurant with good food and great service. The prices were reasonable. The lone waiter did a really good job of taking care of us. We made a reservation, but didn't seem to need it since we went on the early side (6:30). Located right off the Kartner Strasse. I loved that they had several Cuckoo Clocks (the name... More

Chestnut soup was delicious, boiled beef was very well cooked. Good range of typically Austrian food and reasonable prices... Service was very good given there was only one waiter. Highly recommended!

This is a little place tucked away in a side street of the main shopping venue and only few meters from St.Stevens Cathedral. Great traditional food and good wines at reasonable prices served with a smile from the Chinese (!!) owner ( don't worry his wife and mother-in law who are Austrian are in the kitchen). Nice atmosphere and good... More

After eventually finding this, the restaurant was very nice and not too expensive. The free bread was delicious. I had a chicken dish with sauce and dumplings which was very tasty. Owner wasn't overly friendly but food was good. Definitely one to visit if you want a small, cosy, traditional restaurant.

I took my wife here when we spent an overnight in Wien. As the title says we had a great time and the food was delicious. We did not book a table, but still we were able to eat a'la carte. I had Taffelspitz what is my favourite. I can't remember what she had :). Prices were decent too. All... More

It is a small restaurant with typical Austrian food. The "snitzel" is perfect. The wine list is good. The service is good. It is not far from the central part of the town.

My husband and I enjoyed our delicious dinners at Vienna's Kuckuck restaurant. We had incredible service with extra touches....like free little slices of apple struddel for dessert! We liked it so much, we returned on our final night in Vienna.
