Amazing Macaroons

We find this lovely café at "Tripadvisor". It's off the main street, but still close to St. Stephan Cathedral. It was a perfect weather to seat outside, and to drink cappuccino. The cakes display looks very tempting, and so the Macaroons selection. Finely I ordered the Strawberry-Cheese cake, and... read more

I'm search for "Apple Kugen" that my sister in law's Austrian grandmother used to bake, we finally found the closest thing to it at this pretty bakery/restaurant: Apple-Strudel Kuchen. It was delicious with a hint of lemon. Their apple strudel was very good as well. The lady at the front who greeted us and took our orders was pretty stern... More

We went here because of the high ratings on tripadvisor. Ordered the schnitzel and goulash, overall the food was just okay, however the deserts were really wonderful, we ordered the Oberlaa Kurbad Tarte and of course with Oberlaa Cappuccino. The cakes and coffee were really really good!! well, actually about the kurbad tarte, backhome we called it "Opera cake", its... More

A very nice restaurant with great desserts along with a good main course. As with most places in Europe, the smoking was a nuisance.

The pastry and chocolate mousse torte were the best I have ever eaten. Much better than the renowned and expensive Sacher torte. The tables at the back overlooking the garden made a relaxing visit at the end of a long day.

I would have rated this place a 5 except for the brusqueness of the wait staff. We had the feeling they thought it was a big favor on their part to serve us. Other than that, wow! The cappuccino and the cakes are memorable. Sacher torte, chocolate mousse cake, strawberry tarts and ice cream floats are great. If you're in... More

Perfect price vs quality balance. Very friendly to any type of visitors. Love to order birthday and other events cakes here. Absolutely delicious and traditional. Try kurbadtorte! :))

Included in several recommendations and in the trip advisor tours. Very popular and may need to wait for a table and much beloved by ladies of a certain age. Cakes and ice cream are gorgeous and expand beyond the Viennese staples of sachertorte and strudel. The coffee is also fantastic. You do pay a little extra for the quality but... More

During my last visit to Vienna I tried this place for having a coffee and enjoying one of the large variety of cakes they offer. It was an excellent choice. The staff was really friendly and I really enjoyed the raspberry cake at the terrace with an expresso.

Fantastic range of cakes, tortes, slices etc. Not over-priced and they have outlets all over Vienna. Staff are friendly as well.

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
