Good food, great wine

Couldn't get a table at Plachutta for 6 people so ended up walking around and found this place. First of all you see a huge selection of wine - its everywhere around the room. If you check out the wine list it's about 3 pages of Riesling, 2 pages of Gruner Vert;iner etc.. Luckily, the waiter helped... read more

November is goose month, Martini Goose very tasty, waiting time around 20min, didn't drink wine, but my fellows did. Usually would add at least a tenny tips, but if I have to "look for" the waiter to get the check, or to other other items it is not worth it at all. Service was soso, but the food was fine

Got into Vienna on a Friday night, looking for a place to go eat. The Concierge originally recommended a couple places that were booked until after 9PM. This place was available before that and so we went. Since I knew next to nothing about Viennese cuisine, this place was a great introduction for me. I asked the waiter for recommendation... More

Visited the restaurant today for dinner. The layout is good with a generous amount of space between tables and a nice ambience a mix of bistro and brasserie. The menu is simple but offering classic Viennese cuisine and a broader Italian / French options. We opted for a Vitelli Tonato and a steak tartare both excellent. Main courses were calves... More

We were recommended this restaurant by a very helpful taxi driver. We were not disappointed. Nice atmosphere, cosy surroundings, decent food (the pumpkin seed salad and the beef steak were quite satisfying, the schnitzel was not the best in the world but still quite decent). A big bravo to the waiter who was most helpful and polite!

This is a nice out-of-the-way restaurant with a varied menu and decent quality. We had a good Tafelspitz and a good trout with veg a little too al dente. It's not expensive, and the wine selection is huge!

We had our dinner here and staffs were very kind. Also the meal it self was wonderful too. It was first time for me to try Austrailian food and think it was the best choice

Nice and moderately elegant restaurant that seems popular with locals as well as tourists and has an amazing choice of wines (we did try a great Gruner Veltliner) and a great choice of traditional Austrian food and cured meats from all over Europe. The Schnitzel, veal meatballs and Kaiserschmarrn were very good and so was the fish. The overall impression... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
