We had our dinner here and staffs were very kind. Also the meal it self was wonderful too. It was first time for me to try Austrailian food and think it was the best choice

Nice and moderately elegant restaurant that seems popular with locals as well as tourists and has an amazing choice of wines (we did try a great Gruner Veltliner) and a great choice of traditional Austrian food and cured meats from all over Europe. The Schnitzel, veal meatballs and Kaiserschmarrn were very good and so was the fish. The overall impression... More

The food was excellent -Viennese traditional dishes. The service was the fastest I have ever known but once the food is finished they leave you alone to take your time before leaving. The atmosphere is good with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the meal.

Smallish, quaint Austrian restaurant, recommended by the concierge in our hotel. We said we wanted something typical of Vienna. Service was impeccable and friendly. We had asked for an outside table but it was raining and they fitted us in. Hearty food, large portions.

The service stood out in this restaurant because our waiter was very attentive and couldn't do enough to help. He even explained the menu in detail to us. The atmosphere was also very pleasant. They had a good choice of wine by the glass on the specials menu but it was a pity we weren't shown this until after we... More

An authentic Austrian experience. Traditional home cooked Austrian food with a good atmosphere and friendly service. This is not a touristy place. It was mainly locals and the waiters had some English but I would bring your phrase book. A very enjoyable meal

I was fortunate that a friend from Vienna suggested that we have dinner here. I was not disappointed, by ordering their Wiener Schnitzel - my tradition when visiting Vienna. Yummy, big portion and perfectly done. They have mainly traditional Viennese dishes and a good selection of wines and beers. The waiters were great, and I love the history and decor... More

We came here quite late in the Sunday evening, looking for a cozy space to drink some wine and chat - and not really hungry. Loved it from the very first moment for its old-fashioned interior (looking like it remained unchanged - yet very properly cared about - since at least 70s) and really welcoming staff (something not so easily... My boyfriend and I read about this restaurant on some message board and were a bit worried of what kind of food we will receive but we must admit this was one of the best services we have ever received. The waiters were OUTSTANDING!!! The food was also incredible! They carry a large menu of wine so I definitely recommend... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
