According to the positive experience I had in the past, this time I decided to have lunch. You can decide either to order a daily menu at the price of Euro 6,90 (for example mondays Wienerschitzler mit Kartoffelsalad) or a dish (it costs about 10/12 Euros). Beverages isn't included. Some desserts are available (Apfelstrudel is recommanded). All dishes ordered were... More

I popped in for lunch after walking around for 5 hours in 35 degree weather. At first, I was going to turn around because of the amount of smoke in the room. Then, I spied the non-smoking section in the back. Glad I did. The service was relatively swift and the food soon followed. I was happy to here a... More

We tasted there a very delicious gulash and the apfestrudel was really good. You should go there for a meal, especially if you're walkin' around Wien's city centre. The service was nice and the price honest too. Abbiamo assaggiato lì un gulash delizioso e l'apfestrudel era davvero buonissimo. Consiglio di andarci, specialmente se si sta girando per il centro della... More

The coffee was really good, but the rest really bad. So loud, unfriendly staff. Cant say anything about the food though because we didnt want to eat in this crappy atmosphere! It was so loud because it was crowded only with tourists. Locals wouldnt go to this place. Not recommandable from our experience!

This is one of the places in Vienna that you simply have to visit. It is a rather scruffy cafe with art posters all over the walls. Food selection is limited but the reason you come here is for the ambience. Smoking area is in the front, and if you can manage it, then that is the area you should... More

...you are always between interesting people. Standard place for me whenever I go downtown. A Cigar and a brandy there is a must for me. As very stylish place any judgement is very subjective.

Stopped in here after a meal nearby for coffee and dessert - great place! The non-smoking room is at the back so hold your breath and suffer until you get back there. I had a delicious strudel and shared my table (my choice) with 3 lovely German women, and it was great fun. Not a touristy place at all, though,... More

Since this was very near to our accomodation we called in on our first night in Vienna. Go through the smoking area (green sticker on door) to the door with red sticker (no smoking) if that is your preference as this is how it works in Vienna. The waiter found us a table in the busy room and considering that... More

Don't get turned off by the whiffs of smoke when you enter the Kaffee Alt Wien: this is a very nice place to stay and the entrance room is reserved to smokers while a next, large room to non smokers. Very few tourists are seen here; the Kaffee Alt Wien is favourite with locals. They serve good, homemade, Austrian food;... More
