Umar used to be one of the very good fish restaurant, which are rare in Vienna. But lately they are more than dissapointing. It has become one of the - quite typical - viennese arrogant and snobbish places. The service was very poor (the waiters seemed to be only dedicated to some "important" guests forgetting all the others), beside one... More

We nearly missed out on this place because it looked so busy that we would never get served. However they found us a table and the busy waitress made sure that our starters of scallops and oysters soon arrived, later followed by our huge sea-bass. Fortunately our waitress expertly filleted this for us. It was delicious. £20 got us a... More

This restaurant is one of the best lunch spots in Vienna. The seafood is really fresh and prepared in great variety. Nothing fancy just good food for a reasonable price and it is really close to the city center, in Naschmarkt. There are always a lot of local people, which tells it all.

This looked like the place to get great fish. As we passed by we saw people eating from large sharing platters. Everywhere in the Nachtsmarkt was similar in that it aw very open to the public. Add bad singers, rose and newspaper sellers who came in to the cramped eating area and guest and waiters bottoms almost ON our table... More

So good!!! I'm confused on why it is not rated higher. This place was recommended by a wine owner in the market and it did not disappoint. If I had to say something negative it would be that the service was not good but the adorable couple next to us made a wine recommendation that set us in the right... More

This is a somewhat rustic fish restaurant in the Fish market serving extra-fresh fish as meant to be, i.e simply grilled. We had a mixed grill of giant prawns, scampi, scallops and calamari .. melted in the mouth. Other tables shared whole fish (our 4 near neighbours to the right shared a 3 kilo lobster costing 120 euros, the 4... More

Unpretentious dining outdoors in the liveliest place in Vienna. I had scampi in red pepper sauce - messy and delicious, and my wife crabs in wassaby sauce - just plain delicious. Service was informal but very friendly. The prices are high but the food is well worth it. If you like fish and seafood combined with people watching - go,

When entering we where a little rushed by the manager/ owner and I had to remind him to smile in a diplomatic way. So I can understand that for a few, the service would not seem at standards. Especially compared to Asia or UK. But boy, we all forgot about it when our dishes arrived. I had the scolopes with... More
