Genuine pizza

Weather very cold when we called in for a pizza. Very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and the quiet efficiency of the staff. Service very prompts and served with a smile.

Oposite to our experience in restaurant Fratelli, pizzeria Mari is great place, atmosphere is friendly and relaxing, pizza is great and the staff is very fast and kind. We entered the restaurant and it was crowded, only one table was free and we didn't wait for pizza longer than 10min. It was great! Very tasty. Great recommendations.

Do let it be known that I actually dislike pizza...but....with places like this, there is hope! We ordered a salame pizza, prosciutto and a 1/2 potato on white sauce pizza, and 1/2 mushroom and sausage on white split pizza...we ate it all and LOVED it! Thank you Pizza Mari!

we had three pizzas here - the bianca with rocket, provolone & tomatoes; the buffalo mozzarella-tomato-basil; the smoked scamorza one. one person at our table thought the toppings were too sparse, but it was perfect for me. the bread was light as air, chewy and delicious. and the tomato sauce - oh my - freshest I've ever tasted on a... I visit Pizza Mari regularly (both to eat there and take away), and I have never had a bad experience. The location is has a genuine Italian feeling. Menu is "quality over quantity". I highly recommend this place!

Simple interiors, quick service , good pizzas. Seemed to understand concept of vegetarian pizzas - were quick to put together a pizza with all veggies available- turned out very tasty.

I was at this restaurant for the second time. The place doesn't look so inviting, it is designed a bit too simple. At the entrance you can see the pizza oven which let u think that you will get something really good Italian pizza, if that is what u choose. And I can tell you, you ain't going to be... More

Cozy simple place, with nice and genuine Italian personnel preparing the pizza and sometimes serving you, offers a good variety of real pizzas, made with real Italian products and very reasonably priced. Cannot be missed, especially if you are Italian and looking for the real thing.

Simple exterior and interior but what matters is service and food - friendly waiters, great authentic italian pizzas, reasonable prices (around 8-9€ per pizza), extremely quick service (we got our pizzas in less than 10 minutes) = easy choice :)

Today our family was in this pizzeria for the last time. In the pizzeria there is only a child seat and of course most of the time it is taken. After asking directly the owner Mari why do not have some more seats, she said that it is like this and if I am not happy I can go to... More

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
