Best Pizza in Town

Hands down, the best pizza in Vienna. Top notch ingredients are used. The pizzas are cooked to perfection in the wood fired oven. Other than pizza, no reason to come here. This place has no ambiance- in fact it is a rather unpleasant place to eat in- loud and not in the slightest bit cosy. It is... read more

The menu there is really short, but is good so. Tomato sauce is perfect, mozzarella the best. It's a real Italian pizza in town. Salsiccia finochietto it's what you need to try there.

When entering this restaurant, you get the feeling of a neighbourhood restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy, with plain wooden tables placed rather closely together, but this is part of the charm. Looking around in the restaurant, you will find all sorts of people; families out for dinner, friends meeting up, people who appear to be on a laid... More

On recommendation we nipped in here for some food not long after arriving at our apartment. Pizza is cheap and tasty. Beer is relatively inexpensive. Our waitress was friendly. It is not one to travel for but if you are local you could do an awful lot worse.

We went to this place as it was close by to where we were staying, but so glad we did as it was fantastic. Run but genuine Italians, the pizza was very reaonably priced and excellent. The service was friendly and welcoming and the whole atmosphere was wonderful. HIghly recommend eating here if in Vienna.

Since moving to Vienna 4 years ago, I have tried several pizzerias but keep coming back to Pizza Mari. The simple menu, focussing only on Napolitan style pizza, no fuss, assures the freshest ingredients, expedient service in a friendly atmosphere. The panna cotta is also a winner. But better reserve, the place is always packed.

Wood fired oven, simply menu and uncomplicated service. We had good pizza elsewhere in Vienna but Pizza Mari had the extra edge, most likely the oven, that put them top in my list.

The pizza is cooked in a wood-oven and it`s at the same level than a good pizza in Italy. The place is simple.

Myself, my mother and sister came to this resturant because it was very close to our hotel, the staff were very helpful with translating the menu for us and the food was to a high standard. Would definitely recommend this resturant if you want a friendly and easy going place to eat.

Staying in Leopoldstadt

Neighborhood Profile
Leopoldstadt
Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city center and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theaters, discount shops and ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.
