An Absolute Gem!

Walking around the Naschmakt, it's easy to build an appetite but difficult to choose from the many and varied eateries. Naschmarkt is an icone of Vienna. It is good to go shopping for fresh food. The best fresh fish in Vienna is bought there (see where the Japonese buy it and join the queue...). It is also great for eating a bite at any time of the day. A must see really.

We walked around and around the end of the market and couldnt find this place... Asked nearby and nobody knew where it was. It's probably closed down.

We ate oysters here - and my friend got infection... What more to say? That's absolutely unacceptable, they should control the quality of the food!

Stopped by for a lunch after walking around the Naschmarkt. Firstly I have to say that the food was nice and the wine as well. But the service... No comment!! We waited forever until we even got the menu... Finally managed to order and we got the food she left within 2 seconds, leaving us there without forks and knives... More

We had the daily lunch menu with salty soup but then very good main courses, scallops and risotto, vongole and spaghetti, mussels; All three were well cooked and served by a charming waitress who added to the pleasure. Could also see the food being cooked which was fun

we were late to eat and Standhaus was one of few restaurants at naschmarkt that would seat us - and lucky we were. Very good fresh fish, perfectly prepared, nice sides, good wine, very nice service and reasonable price. Can't beat that!

As a fish lover; I could not stop myself from testing this restaurant. It is located opposite another fish place (smoking) Umar. Nice and clean inside. Friendly stuff. Every order was quickly brought and served. If asked for recommendation, it was quickly given in a polite way. We tried oysters. The taste was really good. Washed down with soem Grüner... More
