We were recommended this restaurant by the concierge of our hotel who steered us away from better known Viennese restaurants we had heard about, and we were very glad he did. Courteous service in a warm and inviting environment with a mixture traditional Austrian dishes and some less standard variants. We enjoyed appetisers of marinated calves heart and steak tartare.... Was looking for somewhere to try wiener schnitzel while in Vienna and choose here as close to stephansdom and it had received excellent reviews on this site. We weren't disappointed. Lovely cosy atmosphere inside, massive portions and a humorous waiter. Definite value for the €19.50.

Two people in my party got the fried chicken and said it was very tasty and I recommend it be shared. The pike was really good with a light sauce. The service was a little slow.

We were three guys looking for a nice place to have dinner when we reached Weibel's Wirtshaus. The waiter was really nice, helping us to decide for one of the best dinners. The meat was excellent accompanied by a nice red Austrian wine. If you are in the area just try the Beef Tartar with avocado, Granny- Smith chutney and... More

Just finished a delightful meal after finding the restaurant by happenstance . My husband is Austrian, grew up in Vienna and was delighted with the service and the food. We ordered the chilled cucumber soup, mushroom soup and shared the tafelspitz which was delicious. We felt prices were reasonable and will add this restaurant to our must visit list for... More

We only stayed for 3 nights in Vienna, this was our choice on the last night. A great way to finish it all off. We sat outside, it wasn't busy but it was still nice. Inside the decor is really traditional. This place is true hearty Viennese cuisine. I recommend the ox cheek for starter- It was deliciously meaty.

Our hotel recommended, but don't go there. Our waiter ruined the experience by making impatient, rude remarks. Whenever we questionned his comments, he sneakily tried to retract. Food good, atmosphere very cosy to the point of little air.

Atmospheric restaurant away from the tourist crowds just around the corner at St Stephens. We had a quiet lunch and tried the very excellent wiener schnitzel and tafelspitz. All accompanied by a very drinkable house red wine. We left well pleased.

On a weekend in Wien, with just one dinner out, we wanted to be sure to get the most. And we did it. We found this Wirtshaus recommended on our guide and here in Tripadvisor. I phoned quiet late in the evening, but they found out a table for us at the time we asked. We were seated just near... More
