Many restaurants can boast lovely views here in Vienna, where almost everything is beautiful, however Der Neue Donaurtum takes views to the next level. 165 metres above the ground this restaurant offers the most stunning views and its not as if you could miss it either. Towering over the city this observation tower slowly rotates, endlessly offering new outlooks. But that doesnt mean the interior has been forgotten, simple and classic in simple whites, stripes and wood, the dining room allows the view and the food to speak more loudly. The short but sweet menu centres around the delicate traditions of Viennese cooking accompanied by fine wines.

Book ahead

Do book ahead, the view of Vienna is incredible. It is a bit of a novelty and you do have to pay to go up the tower even though you're eating there. The food is nice but there are better places. I would recommend the visit for the changing landscape as you eat.

We celebrated our daughters birthday and was amazing, getting a table is book at least a month before. Service is excellent and food is good. The best time to go is in summer on a clear night, very romantic and family friendly.

Honestly we came for the amazing views of Vienna and not the food so we shouldn't have been surprised that the former was amazing and the latter was just so-so.

We didn't have a reservation but the manager told us to wait a minute and they would fit us in. We were seated within three minutes. The food was great and the view was magnificent. We watched the sun go down. Loved it!!

I chose to spend my birthday in Vienna and my friend found the Danube Tower Restaurant online and we decided that this was the place to go for my birthday meal. When we arrived we were a bit confused by how to get to the restaurant as the main entrance led into a gift shop, however we went in and... More

Recommended for the view of Vienna and it did not disappoint. The view was incredible, can't explain it as you have to see it for yourself. The food was average, nothing special. We went for the set menu and got one course straight after the other and generally like waiting a bit before I move onto the next course! There... More

We had dinner there last night. The food is average and not so much to chose from, but the view compensates all of this. This place is a must when you visit Viena!! We stayed across the park and it was a little creepy to get there during the night.

Out of all the nice places we have been in Viena this was the highlight of our trip. We did not now that the restaurant has a 360• rotating view, which was a fantastic surprise. The food was very delicious; we had zander pot au Feu and Viennese melange- I highly recommend the second dish - the texture of the... More

We were there this afternoon (4-5 pm). The view and sunset were amazing! The service however was terrible. We had to wait quite some time to get menus. We were really hungry but unfortunately they only offerded 1 kind of soup, 2 kinds of salad, 1 kind of toast and 3 different cakes. My brother, who's a vegetarian, ordered a... More

We celebrated there birthday of our friend and we came at the evening, so the view from the restaurant is super nice. Food is good but for that price you expect something more. We were disappointed when we went to the lift and the lady told we have to pay for going up, so we paid extra 30 eur for... More
