Description: Many restaurants can boast lovely views here in Vienna, where almost everything is beautiful, however Der Neue Donaurtum takes views to the next level. 165 metres above the ground this restaurant offers the most stunning views and its not as if you could miss it either. Towering over the city this observation tower slowly rotates, endlessly offering new outlooks. But that doesnt mean the interior has been forgotten, simple and classic in simple whites, stripes and wood, the dining room allows the view and the food to speak more loudly. The short but sweet menu centres around the delicate traditions of Viennese cooking accompanied by fine wines.

The food was excellent and we got taste of Austrian cuisine. The environment, the service and the view was indescribable and, although it was night, we saw the lights of Vienna as the restaurant revolved. Very romantic especially for young couples. Memorable experience.

This place is a little away from the old part of town and easiest to get to by car. It features a nice revolving restaurant on top of a tower and 360 degree view of the city. I went with friends and we went for dinner. I had a meal called "Onion Roast" which was a lovely beef dish with... More

My first time in Austria, recently, I come from Mauritius, and my friends wanted to surprise me on an afternoon outing. Truly the won the challenge. It was that special night on the 8th August 2013, after an afternoon visit on the hill, to view Wien, from the hill, they took there for dinner. We've got to wait, as the... More

A fascinating view from the rotating restaurant! The food was average and the coffee was so-so. But I think this place is a must just for the sake of a beautiful view.

Yes - the view is amazing! And yes - a spinning restaurant may be quite an experience (although it gave me seasickness) The food however was not at all impressive. My husband ordered chicken and it was OK, my fish on the other hand was ordinary frozen supermarket cod. The side dishes were good. Aperos and wines were quite expensive... More

The prix fixe menu looked great, and reasonable, but we were very happy with choices from the seasonal and regular menus. Local wines went well with appetizers and entrees. Desserts, yummy. View - fantastic. Expensive but unforgettable.

Make sure to reserve your table at least one month ahead of time. The food is a bit expensive, but it is very tasty and the view is amazing! Your view of Vienna is constantly changing as you eat your dinner. The cafe below is also very good, if you did not make a reservation.

We ate at the restaurant as family of 5 which we'd booked in advance. Fortunately the weather was good and hence we had a great view. Rotated about 4 times over dinner so can see everything at different stages of evening. Occasionally the sensation of motion can be strange but looking at a different point quickly settles and discomfort. The... More

There're two places available - restaurant and cafe, first one was fully booked so we headed to cafe and were really surprised by its really good food. View is unbelievable for sure, but they don't try to compensate meal quality with that point. Service is fine considering place is pretty crowded. Oh, almost forgot - the whole place is rotating... Very good location to overlook Vienna from 150-200m in the air. A bit difficult to get there from the city centre, so get a cab. The main deck of the restaurant is rotating therefore you get a glimpse of everything around. Some may be uncomfortable seeing how the floors move, but most people seem to be fine, it's actually quite... More
