Great atmosphere

This restaurant is a little bit old fashion but its wonderful! The really friendly staff and the food is just perfect! Close to the opera building and located in the Grand Hotel Vienna.

The service was good, but it's not worth the price considering: - our wine was from an old bottle and had turned to vinegar; the second glass -- a different kind -- wasn't much better - they offered very few non-alcoholic drinks - they charged extra (split plate fee) for us to share dessert and an appetizer (we just weren't... This place is worth going to just for the pigeon breast. 4 of us ate in 3 of the trip advisor Vienna top 10 and this dish was the standout. After a few glasses of excellent Austrian wine, this was my funny exchange with the elderly pianist. Me "Do you requests" Pianist "Yes" Me "Let it go" Pianist "Let it... More

An exquisite restaurant with excellent service, delicious meals presented beautifully, all just stone's throw away from the opera. Cheap it is not - expect to pay a lot, but if you want to treat yourself to a Hapsburg meal in Vienna, this is the place to do it!

after our first night's terrible meal at Steirereck we wondered if terrible service was a feature in Vienna restaurants. It was lovely to have our minds put at rest. Great quiet efficient service with the customer at the centre and lovely tasting food presented very well. I strongly recommend this restaurant for a special evening dinner whilst in Vienna.

I had a wonderful lunch with my wife in this restaurant. The Lobster bisque is super. We ordered the Spanish Pork and a fish. The Spanish Pork is so tender and tastes good. Fish is also well cooked. Followed by the excellent Carrot Cake and an espresso to end the perfect meal.

It was just a correct business meal, not more, I was somehow deceived as I have experienced much better meals at this place, before, and then with the lady-Chef Jacqueline (she had already left at the time of our visit). Since its first years, Le Ciel used to be one of our family's favorite culinary excursions, our palates were "almost... More

I spent three days and three nights in Vienna. Le Ciel was by far the best meal I ate there. Food, service, and ambiance were excellent.

Traditionally on Ash Wednesday at the beginning of Lent there is a final feast . predominantly with fish specialties they offered an exquisite buffet and served dinner in traditional Viennese Style but also with a Japanese Corner to be recommended but quite expensive

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
