Excellent Italian food just off the main street

We had excellent risotto and lasagna, especially the mushrooms in lasagna were plenty and good. During our stay it started to pour rain, the staff was very helpful in moving us inside along with all the stuff + 1 year old child. Also the waiter spoke excellent english.

Great food, good service, reasonable prices, good wines, excellent location: what more could you ask of a restaurant? Just off the main street this restaurant has outdoor tables as well as indoor seating. The wine list is good and the house wines are excellent. Service is fast and efficient. Prices are very reasonable, especially considering the location and adjacent competitors.... More

I have been coming to Vienna several times a year for work for the past 5 years. I got introduced to this restaurant by a friend and always enjoy it. The basement area is the best seating in the restaurant. The staff are nice and speak English well. The food is fantastic and the desserts are divine. I recommend ANY... More

Sunday evening in downtown Vienna and turned to Google maps for a dinner suggestion. Just round the corner and with good reviews! Really nice decor and larger than expected. Al Fresco in front and comfortable air conditioned area inside. Staff were very attentive, always busy and polite. Salads, Carpaccio Pizzas, lasagne and special pasta dishes were very tasty. A nice... More

i choose Daniele based on location and TA comments. was not disappointed in the least, altho i do not believe by any stretch of the imagination that this establishment is in the "Excellent" category. it kind of diminishes the classificaiton. nonetheless, this is a great restaurant and will return. the central location does it well. see my images

We went to Danieli (at the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel) for an early dinner prior to the opera. The salads and pasta courses were very good. My lamb was excellent and had some lovely homemade ravioli as part of the dish. Service was professional, friendly and fast. This would be a good place to linger over a... More

Had read the reviews and had it on a list of places to try - but then chanced upon it around dinner time. Managed to get the last outside table and had a very enjoyable meal. Good service and quality Italian food. Classic Italian fare - carpaccio and piccata Milanese and very decent wines. Recommended and lived up to the... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
