Good Italian food. VERY good wine.

We went on a quiet evening in the restaurant with only a few people eating there. The place itself is charming. The Italian food was good, although 2 of 3 main courses were quite salty. Great wine many. The wine we were recommended was perfect with the food. Good service.

This was an absolute gem of a find for our first night in Vienna! Recommendation from the front desk at Kaiserin Elisabeth Hotel which is only a minute walk away. Fabulous and extensive menu, lot's of options, great prices, I had the lamb chops with ravioli and it was a taste sensation. Reasonable price, extensive wine menu. Lovely staff, knowledgeable... We were just strolling up from the Opera House looking at all the shops. Stumbled upon this restaurant- greeted by a friendly host; seated at a romantic table with candlelight. Extensive wine menu with help choosing a great Sauvignon Blanc from Vienna. The waiter spoke excellent English. We started with the shrimp in garlic sauce as an appetizer, served with... More

We stumbled across this place after wandering around aimlessly in the rain looking unsuccessfully for a decent looking Austrian place. It is an interesting building with cavernous rooms and rustic charm. Some of the reviews on the food were mixed so maybe we chose well, but ours was the kind of typically fresh and tasty fare that you'd expect in... More

This centrally located restaurant features an elegant italian food style of high quality The service is good the atmosphere is old fashioned but not too inviting . The exeption is the restaurant part in the basement - vaulted ceilings crude brik walls murano chandeliers ... Interesting

this was a great find from our front desk at Kaiserin Elisabeth Hotel. Wonderful menu, very traditional northern Italian, lot's of options, including white asparagus as it is seasonal in the region, big wine list - you can spend a lot, but it has reasonable choices as well, nice wait staff. We are repeating with 2 "nieces" in two days.

We saw this restaurant on Trip Advisor and just walked in. We were greeted in a friendly way and seated immediately. The service was excellent and the (Italian) menu contained good variety Our food was excellent quality and well presented. We had mains and delicious desserts. We would go again any time. Why only four stars? Prices were a little... More

I just walked into Danieli for a quick dinner by myself, which I do very seldom. But I was very pleased with the way I was treated - without a reservation - from the time I walked in to the time I left. The host and the wait staff were warm and friendly and I enjoyed my dinner immensely.

Nice place and service. But..... Too expensive for the quality given. Rissoto was too strong (dind't let wine evaporate) and over cooked. The pizza was expensive for it's quality. The bottle of water costed nearly 7euros!

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
