Very old Viennese restaurant, where the local business men eat. The Viennese specialties abound and are delicious. Good wait staff, good beer. Not cheap but a reasonably priced place for a tourist town. We enjoyed it.

Cosy and traditional place, with plenty of choises of traditional dishes. I had trout fillets, which where very good. Average service and a big minus for charging €3 per person in cover charge for having lunch on a normal weekday.

Inside is a typical wienner restaurant, very confortable and cozy. the waiters are very professional and kindly. the food is fantastic, I had eat a magic Lamb shank pink-roasted beans variation, roasted polenta, rosemary... A very nice old tavern in the middle of Inner Stadt. The food is a bit more refined than just tavern food, but still traditional Austrian, the wine list is very good and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

My family including 3 young children (ages 2, 5, 10) had a great meal here. The schnitzel was the best I had in the city. They had a good selection of Austrian wines. Overall a welcoming place to eat great Austrian food.

We arrived without reservation on Fridy night and got a table, the staff were able to assist in English and were attentive.. we had the Vension and Cordon Bleu.. both were excellent. Can't fault the service or the restaurant.. after the plate filling schniztel's elsewhere this is a bit of quality.

The word 'Ofenloch' is certainly a culinary restaurant name to conjure with when it comes to sampling great food and drink, cooked well, served well and presented within a highly pleasing environment. With a starchly conservative ambience (much to the taste of this author), full of wooden panelling resembling the eternally wonderful ‘Simpsons’ in London, this place has to be... More

We had a lovely family meal, however, it was nothing special. Food was enjoyable but the service was almost overly quick as a family of 5 had completed dinner in 30 minutes.

There were 12 of us at a business evening dinner. Food choice was very good. Presentation of the food was excellent. The lamb was on the specials menu but for me it would have been too rare. I chose the Schnitzel (veal) which was ok - I have tasted better. Others had roast beef and noodles, was ok but again... More

Staying in Inner City

Neighborhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the center. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
