Our hotel recommended this restaurant for traditional Viennese food. It's a small restaurant with dark wood panel and tables. It's not trendy or touristic. Even we couldn't speak any German and without a reservation, we were seated in the tiny garden outside promptly. We ordered broiled beef and Goulash with local beer. The food was delicious and the price was... More

I was there with friends. It seems to be a traditionel family run wiener lokal. We have been there on a sunday and had to do a reservation before. The kitchen is not difficult and sophisticated at all, but what they have is a good hausmannskost..They use good materials and are good. We tried more dishes, I'm from Budapest and... More

We liked this Beisl very much because it was full with local people and it seemed the perfect place for a family dinner. The waiters were very friendly and the food was not expensive. The glas of Gelber Muskateller was excellent!

We found this place in a folder at our hotel which recommended local eateries. We wanted traditional Viennese food in as local a spot as we could find and we weren't disappointed. As soon as we walked in we knew this wasn't your typical tourist trap restaurant, I felt terrible for not being able to speak a word of German... More

I enjoyed my meal at the Gathaus Ubi. The restaurant was recommended by my hotel as authentic Austrian food. The food was delicious in a charming setting. The waiters were extremely helpful an able to answer questions in excellent English.

Went there with friends on a balmy evening early September, sat in the somewhat dilapidated garden (the Ubl-owners probably don't invest their proceeds) and realized, that if you take away the charming interior of this gem of a Viennese Beisl, all that remains of the praised Ubl is pretty mediocre food (and an uninspiring wine-list) -- still good enough for... Gasthaus Ubl is one of the hidden gems in Vienna and we adored it. It it mostly visited by Viennese people and it close to the Naschmarkt. The Traubensaft (grape juice) must be the nicest I have had anywhere!

A real gem ,not far from Nashmarkt, and actually very close to hotel "Drei Kronen" where we stayed. Old fashioned classic interior. Very good food, traditional and seasonal dishes, home style. Average price. The most interesting dishes we tried: fried fennel for starter and 'Kaizershmarn'' for dessert. The young waiters, mostly from East Europe, were kind and helpful. This place has... This is a good place to treat yourself for the experience of traditional dining in Vienna. However, probably one time is enough.

We had a wonderful evening meal in this very traditional Gasthaus. 2 good sized dining rooms separate the smoking & non-smoking areas nicely. Decor is pretty sparse, with dark wood panelling giving way to creamy walls and ceiling; nicer than any modern generic styled place, where you could be in almost any city in the world! Staff were attentive and... More
