Nice restaurant with delicious food

We had a friends birthday dinner at finkh and the food and service were great! It is a small restaurant with a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately there was one bad thing- it was very cold inside, some of my friends needed to wear their jackets.

Finkh was our best food experience during our last weekend in Vienna - really excellent. We liked the simple, barebone design of the place: large high ceiling space with black and white colors on the walls with an industrial feel. Food was superb both for classics (remarkable schnitzel) and more inventive food: beet salad and turnip soup. It was packed... More

Finkh is a small establishment and is definitely not where you would run into many other tourists. I have been twice and both times have ordered the Schnitzel, which in my opinion is enough food for two. They do have English menus, and many servers do speak English as well. I recommend them as a less expensive, though more authentic... More

This really did offer the best Wienerschnitzel I've ever had, and I've lived in Europe for two years and traveled there much more. It is light and crisp. It comes with a nice Preiselberren (?) sauce. The Apfelstrudel, on the other hand, was no better than average. The restaurant is small, in a nice residential neighborhood, an easy subway ride... More

Very good wiener schnitzel. We came to the restaurant specifically for the snitzel and I was not disappointed. We tried Figlmueller, but I have to agree this restaurant has a better snitzel because it's both lighter and crispier. The restaurant is not big, but has a decent size outdoor area for eating. It is hard to find this restaurant because... More

Had a fantastic dinner at Finkh tonight. Good wine selection, the claim of the lightest veal schnitzel in town is true, the stuffed chicken is also nothing short of amazing, and the chocolate cake added to the perfect ending. The interior is a bit modern and spare and the restaurant is small. I was concerned about some of the reviews... More

I happened to go to Finkh out of TripAdvisor"s reviews just because it was very close to our hotel and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Food was excellent and service was very nice. We managed to get in just in time as we did not have a reservation (which I would recommend) and the meal was fantastic.... More

Went on recommendations of other Trip Advisors & another review site my wife (IB) uses; We were looking for a great, no frills, Wiener Schnitzel. This place absolutely delivered. The decor inside was very basic (dare I say a little lazy to strip it back this far?), but we sat outside where they had tables along the pavement and on... More

This place had mixed reviews but it was nearby and I was starving so I thought I'll give it a go anyway. As it turns out, I quite like it for its simple menu, the ambience was easy to just chill, and food is well priced. The staff was efficient and easy going. I ordered the blood sausages and it... Staying in Mariahilf

Neighborhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the center. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theater decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
