Big restaurant with good prices

I go there each time I'm in Vienna. The place is always full at dinner time, most of them are locals. Portions are really big. Spare ribs are good, they come with potatoes, sauce and salad on the side. One portion is enough for 2 or 3 pers.

The location is unique. Between arcs and inside of them. The view to the opposite arcs with metroline 6 is my favorite. Huge porsions of food and fantastic ribs, schnizel, wurst... and of cource beer Free places all seasons of year. Dinner and lunch could be there. Tramstop of tram D is good for sightseeing passing half Vienna to Belvedere... More

This truely is one of the top notch modern beerhall's you could wish to visit in this wonderful city. Part of the small chain of BRANDAUERS BEERHALL'S in Vienna this particular beerhall is outstanding. I was there with a friend a few months back. We had a couple of beers and ordered Schnitzel and the Skewers. The food was very good. I also like the atmosphere in the restaurant. Service was very attentive too. I would go back.

Restaurant serves mainly Austrian cuisine in good quality at really fair prices - especially when you look at the size of most dishes. Especially the spare ribs are legendary and everytime worth a try. If you're not sure you can handle them, order the "small" ones. They're more than enough for the average eater. Even better than the food is... More

I love their spare ribs, they're so tasty and delicious. And you can even share the dish, because I could never eat that dish by myself (good for 2). The atmosphere is very cosy and the service is good. I prefer this Brandauer the most, as I like its architecture and location (easy to find, close to the inner city).... More

Unlike the Brandauer Gerngross, this one isn't all that welcoming and the staff aren't that friendly, even borderline rude. We had to wait for about 20 minutes for the waiter to finally bring us our drinks (we had only ordered different kinds of beer) and then he didn't even know who ordered what beer. He just simply randomly placed the... More

I was kind of hesitating between average and very good. You may skip the starters an move diretly to thr ribs or skewers. The ribs are more than generous portion. It may serve two. Meat was good. I had the skewer very good. Ribs are good but we prefer the American way of baby ribs. Very good value.

Neighborhood Profile
Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
