Have you ever been to a restaurant and ask for something that is not on the menu? On 95 out of 100 the answer would be polite but negative. My wife wanted to eat "Pallatchinnken" which is a kind of a pancake filled with fruit jam or chocolate and which was not on the dessert menu .Never the less the... More

Eight of us are spending the weekend in Vienna and the all important first night was spent at the Beim Czaak restaurant in the very heart of the Old City and what a treat it served up. The front of the restaurant is a bar - do not be surprised at people smoking in the bar - and you are... More

this small but friendly restaurant delivers exactly what it offers. Excellent food, served with good service in a warm and friendly atmosphere at remarkably good value. Well worth a visit and compares well with some of its more expensive neighbours

Visited here in May 2014. Listed on TA and also in several guidebooks as owned by the same family since 1928, this is a charming little place to eat! Located a short walk from the St. Stephens church (although I did have to walk around a bit to locate it). I had a traditional beef dish that was very good.... More

Beim Czaak has been hosted by the same family for a decade and they want to honor the tradition. The food was very good (for example the schnitzel). You don´t leave this restaurant and feel hungry!

We had a lovely dinner in Beim Czaak tonight. We didn't have a reservation and they were fully booked, but they accommodated us and the service was friendly and very efficient. Great Italian waiter - very professional! The spinach dumplings were delicious, and my boyfriend really enjoyed his Hausschnitzel. Highly recommended!

Upon the recommendation of personnel at Hotel Karntnerhof, we had dinner at Beim Czaak, a Viennese restaurant that serves an excellent Wiener Schnitzel. The service was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was old Vienna. This is where the locals go to eat. It is not fancy, but one feels comfortable while in this restaurant. Outside dining is also available.... More

In one of our last days in Vienna we realized that we still have'nt tried the famous "Wiener Schnitzel". After checking the Lonely Plannet guide we picked this restaurant. It was everything we expected it to be. It is a very nice small restaurant. The tables are also small and placed clese one to another. In general this place appears... More

Quiet restaurant in a secondary street near the centre where it is possible to taste some authentic Austrian food: everything is good (especially their typical schnitzel), staff is kind and fast. Only defect: even if you eat in the non-smoking area, you smell some smoke of cigarettes from the room near the entrance reserved to smokers. Beside this, really good... More

If you're looking for great authentic Austrian food then make a visit to Beim Czaak. It's a bit out of the way but just in a back street behind Stephan's Kirche. The schnitzel was the best I've ever had and worth the visit. Only draw back is the smell of smoke in the non smoking room adjacent to the smoking... More
