Upon the recommendation of personnel at Hotel Karntnerhof, we had dinner at Beim Czaak, a Viennese restaurant that serves an excellent Wiener Schnitzel. The service was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was old Vienna. This is where the locals go to eat. It is not fancy, but one feels comfortable while in this restaurant. Outside dining is also available.... More

In one of our last days in Vienna we realized that we still have'nt tried the famous "Wiener Schnitzel". After checking the Lonely Plannet guide we picked this restaurant. It was everything we expected it to be. It is a very nice small restaurant. The tables are also small and placed clese one to another. In general this place appears... More

Quiet restaurant in a secondary street near the centre where it is possible to taste some authentic Austrian food: everything is good (especially their typical schnitzel), staff is kind and fast. Only defect: even if you eat in the non-smoking area, you smell some smoke of cigarettes from the room near the entrance reserved to smokers. Beside this, really good... More

If you're looking for great authentic Austrian food then make a visit to Beim Czaak. It's a bit out of the way but just in a back street behind Stephan's Kirche. The schnitzel was the best I've ever had and worth the visit. Only draw back is the smell of smoke in the non smoking room adjacent to the smoking... More

We live in Vienna, and in the warmer months I will meet my husband here for an outdoor lunch as it is near to his office. Somewhat off the beaten tourist path, the restaurant never fails to offer good, solid Austrian fare. We typically order one of the daily offerings and are always pleased. The waitstaff is friendly and patient... More

We went to this restaurant on a Friday afternoon for lunch after a long drive from Prague. We were looking for typical Austrian food to start our weekend trip to Vienna, and we found it at Beim Czaak. My wife and I ordered the Hausschnitzel, and they willingly did my wife's gluten free. What a surprise! They charged 2 €... More

Been there with my family of four and enjoyed a nice lunch. We were strolling around the area looking for a restaurant not for tourists but with a viennese touch. Well, I think we found it!

We were told all other tables booked so had to settle for table next to kitchen , this was untrue the other tables were not all used during our stay ,common practice but dont do it to a chef . Most of the food was excellent apart from some rather poor undercooked pasta. Attitude to tourists and to locals was... More

Tucked away slightly this is a good place to eat. Once you are inside and in the no smoking section at the back you feel like you are in a country restaurant, not the city centre. We went on a Friday night and were initially told there was no room .. then told we could have a table ofr 2... More

It's well worth searching out this bar/ restaurant which is just off the tourist trail. We ate in the outdoor area which was very pleasant on a hot evening. Although the restaurant was busy, service was prompt and friendly. Our food arrived quickly and was excellent, especially the house schnitzel. The food and drinks were very good value for money.
