Tempel is a classy restaurant hidden away in a part of Vienna seldom visited by those from outside. It is located very close to Nestroyplatz U-Bahn station but a visitor will have to know what they are looking for to find it. The restaurant itself is located off the street, a passage leading to a small doorway with a sign... More

Enjoyed every moment of our 3.5 hour 5 course meal. Very rustic ambiance accompanied with good food made for a true Austrian dining experience.

When you are finally served what you ordered over an hour ago, you wonder how it is possible that such superb quality and taste in a meal cannot be accompanied by decent waiting times. Everything is fine in this restaurant (although service could be a tad more delicate and less intrusive...) except for the unacceptably prolongued waiting for what otherwise... More

In a peaceful courtyard in the centre of Vienna, we enjoyed a relaxed lunch. The food suited the weather, and from a short menu we enjoyed freshly cooked food with lots of flavour. Starters of marinated Arctic char with watermelon and strawberry and paprika gazpacho were beautifully flavoured and presented. Mains of black pudding, potato and grilled octopus (sounds weird,... I've read a couple of negative reviews and I must beg to disagree. One of complaints was that there is a 3.50 Euro Cover/Service Charge for each person. Such a charge is something which is done in some restaurants. Next is the food. I had wild boar. Cooked to a turn. Served at just the right temperature with lovely potatoes... More

My family went to this restaurant because it was close to our hotel and it had very good reviews. We ordered early bird three course menu. The salmon in a main dish was awful, and chicken was not fully cooked. They charged Gedeck (10.50 euros). Dont want to go there again

Beware of this place. It is pleasant enough but is expensive for what it is. The owner is very charming and promotes the restaurant as fine dining which it is not. I went with a friend and we ate outside which was rather akin to a yard at the rear of a block of flats. The service was good but... More

The service was attentive and went above and beyond normal food service. And when food is as delicious as it was during our visit, it is difficult to describe in words.

We were recommended this restaurant by our hotel, which was on the same road. It is hidden, off the road. Although there is a sign on the main road, we would not have noticed this restaurant without the recommendation. The first night we arrived, they didn't have any space so we booked a table for the following evening. The restaurant... More

The aspirations of this place are clear, to present a fine dining experience, but the execution left me wanting. The waitstaff was competent if not polished. The decor was the same that you'd expect from an average Austrian restaurant, but lacking the sophistication that one would expect from an upscale restaurant. The food was well-prepared, but certainly far from surprising.... More
