Innsbruck's consistently surprising restaurant

Dined in Sitzwohl a few times over the past years and we are happy to see that they maintained their high standards, consistency and creativity. Beef tartar at its best, with fine texture and a twist + The trout a la Mojito with fennel were outstanding appetizers. We followed with Octopus... read more

As usual I trusted your inputs to try this one... But I should say that it did not met the expectation ... We've got asparagus with so called pata negra ham but it was just a cerano ham..., the veal was looking good but the cock should have done a mistake with the amount of salt ( almost like the... A slick minimalist restaurant with knowledgeable and attentive staff. A high level of detail was let down by obvious faults on every plate of our 4 course mini-tasting menu. Soup with scallop and corn was full of taste, but also full of salt. A secondi of crayfish ravioli was probably the highlight, but again the salt in the accompanying sauce... More

Super gourment food in a stylish setting. We enjoyed a party and finger food in the bar. We go several times a year for gourmet food at ok prices. Highly recommended.

We are traveling from the States, staying in various cities throughout Bavaria and Austria for Christmas Market season. We try and eat local foods as much as possible. We can get Italian anywhere back home. What intrigued me about Sitzwohl was the "fusion" and the dining experiences I read here on TA. This was a wonderful experience, exquisite food, and... More

We were there for a business dinner - very beautiful setting, delicious food and great service. I liked the food a lot - had a combination of deer with "powidl tascherl" and mushrooms, which was a great combination!! Loved it. Will go there definitely again when I will be in Innsbruck!

Had dinner there with my wife last night and was impressed not just by the place itself but by the overall experience. Started out by each ordering Prosecco with stirred plum sorbet and ginger -- very refreshing aperitif! Then I had Asia beef tartare with mango-cucumber salsa and papa dum for my starter -- Yummy! For our main course, my... More

We had two meals there during our stay, the food and service were very good. Europe is way behind some countries with its smoking laws and were you can and cannot smoke. If you enter by one doorway you are greeted by clouds of cigarette smoke, smoking rooms in restaurants are still common place in parts of Europe.

If anything sets the bar for the efficient coordination between the front of house and the kitchen it's large group bookings. Mine, counting at 20 with two diners joining late was served a-la-carte (which can prove tricky most times hence a-la-carte group dining is a rarity in London), and were impressed with choice. Having a vegetarian diner in my group... More

The Sitzwohl menu seems to me the most interesting offer. I had it today while my husband ate a la carte. All his dishes were excellent but the menu dishes were a little more creative and surprising; for example slightly smoked large shrimp with a tasty lentil salad, or fish with a risotto containing gherkins. The wines by the glass... More
