Good fun, great beer

10 of us went to the restaurant. We had very good, traditional food. The bar area is unique with the old city wall incorporated into the decor. The beer was excellent and the place was hopping inside and at the outside beer garden.

This place was very popular all the time. A large outdoor area, and several indoor rooms. Unfortunately smoking, like everywhere in Innsbruck, is allowed in outside eating areas. No smoking indoors. This place is lively and attractive. Prices are low. Unfortunately the food is heavy and unimaginative, though there is a lot of it.

I used the Stiftskeller several times on a recent trip to Innsbruck. Always busy, I never had to wait long to order drinks and food. All of which arrived promptly at the table. The food is basic Austrian fare, served piping hot from a busy kitchen. Prices are reasonable, particularly when you consider where it is situated. One observation regarding... More

Food was good and very substantial. Beer was good. I ordered Gruner Veltliner wine, which was not the house wine and slightly more expensive, and I know I was given the house wine first time round, as having drunk it for years, I know what it should be like, although I was told I was wrong. Service was good. Place... More

My partner and I found this traditional Austrian keller on TripAdvisor and were initially confused at how it worked. When we asked a waitress if there was a table available in the restaurant area she said “no, it’s full” and then left us to attend another customer. Walking back into the bar area we decided to get a drink and... More

I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food at this place. They had a selection of Tyrolean specialties and we tried one of the stews that was really good and came with spinach spaetzle which was interesting. Good beer and fun place. Nice patio and good interior if it's raining or cold.

Just back from dinner. This Austrian restaurant is busy and has a nice conversational hum, but service is still good. Great beer, oh and the mixed salad (potato, carrot, cucumber, and saurkraut salads)is too good not to enjoy, schnitzel very tasty. Ask lots about the sausage or you could end up with a hotdog! Beer is excellent.

This Stiftskeller may look at the first glance like a tourist trap. Many guests, young and old, many rooms in an old building. If you are lucky and have found a place the service will be at your side right away. Orders run electronically to the kitchen. Your beer, original bavarian beer ( I recommend "Weissbier") is delivered within 1-2... More

Good, inexpensive beer and a great choice of delicious and authentic Tirolean dishes. The two of us each had two very generous courses with two large beers for 39 Euros. A great place to sit and people-watch and excellent service. Really close to the main attractions of Innsbruck.
