We wanted a modest bite to eat for lunch, and some kaffee und kuchen. The non-cake menu was very limited, but we went for a mixed cheese/ham/salami plate - and bread rolls were extra! Cakes/strudel were on the menu, but you couldn't order them. You had to wait until the cake lady came by and choose from what was on... More

We loved sitting outside at this cafe and sipping cappucinos .When we first arrived, the sweets tray was presented to us. The variety was great. We regretted not having the apple stroudel initially, because by the time we returned in the early evening all the stroudel had been eaten. We would suggest if you want to experience the apple stroudel... More

Upstairs & downstairs indoor & outdoor dining in one of the major squares of the Old Town. Great food & a great location for people watching. It is somewhat pricey but it is worth it. A late full Austrian/US breakfast array for three was approximately 45 Euros but the servings were huge & tasty & included the best coffee on... More

I prefer to sit in the first floor and if possible on the balcony to overview the place below. Good coffee and sweet directly by the barmaid offered. Read the coffee offer carefully before you order. Take your time and read one of the newspapers available in great choice.

One of the oldest cafés in Salzburg; Cafe Tomaselli has history. It was a café that the famous composer Mozart regularly visited. The cafe is situated spot on the main square and hard to miss. The place looks popular and crowded. One of the striking aspect about this cafe is its peculiar staff. As a guest you somehow feel they... More

I usually do not critisise but... this was outrageus... We waited about half an hour until lady with cakes appeared at our table. Just to show us enormous choice of one cake. Apfelstrudel? Forget it, no apfel or any other strudel just one miserable sort of cake... Maybe a lot of history, but if I want history I go to... More

It was hard to find a place to sit and the waiters were so busy, it was hard to find time for us. Because we weren't exactly ready with our orders, he gave a frustrated sound and look and sped off. Came back 15 minutes later and asked if we were ready to order. The food was good.

We had breakfast here each day of our stay in Salzburg. Great coffee & tea, cakes looked fantastic , strudel - Apricot & apple were very good . Service was prompt and friendly. Sitting inside is nice if you wish to get away from the crowds.

Cakes and pastries here are amazing. It's been packed the last two times we've been to Salzburg (just before Christmas and then in May), and rightly so. The coffee-flavored cream cake is a standout.
