Really good Austrian food and great value

Traditional Austrian place, Really attentive and friendly service. Menu well translated with excellent food allergy notification for gluten and lactose. Being Coeliac it was great for me. The Zwettlers mixed grill was fantastic. Huge portion and very well priced. The one thing thing I wasn't keen... read more

Traditional Austrian place, Really attentive and friendly service. Menu well translated with excellent food allergy notification for gluten and lactose. Being Coeliac it was great for me. The Zwettlers mixed grill was fantastic. Huge portion and very well priced. The one thing thing I wasn't keen on, it's a smoking restaurant, although at the time I visited, it was quiet,... More

We came for a late lunch based on reviews and could not have been happier. The waitress was Superb! Gave us a great table and great recommendations for food and drink. Although the smoke from the bar was noticeable it didn't distract too much from our meal. We wish we had more time in Salzburg so we could return. Potato... More

We visited Zwettler's for dinner. Awesome potato soup, yummy schnitzel and goulash, great beer...what's not to love? The waitress could have been a little warmer, but maybe it was she wasn't comfortable with her English. Good experience. Would definitely eat here again next time we visit Salzburg!

We dined here based on a recommendation from a local who we asked about an authentic Austrian restaurant. What a fabulous restaurant this was. Brimming with character and with helpful, friendly staff, this place was packed with locals and tourists alike. My meal was absolutely delicious. This sentiment was echoed by the family with their meals. The dessert (a traditional... More

Fantastic meal and service from start to finish, this isn't a place for those wishing ham and eggs but if its typical traditional Austrian cuisine then this is the place for you. The place itself is quirky and decorated in their own style, food is well cooked. My only problem was the place was very warm, always busy so please... More

My sister and I stayed in Salzburg for 2 nights, and this was by far our favorite restaurant. The staff was very friendly. Excellent service and help with the menu - neither my sister nor I speak more German than hello, please, and thank you. The food was great! We had cheese spätzle and meat and potatoes. Would recommend both.... More

We had dinner here our first night after just arriving in Salzburg. I had made reservations online which was very easy and they sat us right away. It was the 23rd December so everyone was in a good mood and having fun at this restaurant. The traditional food was really good, our service was timely and although I can't remember... More

When we planned to spend the new year's eve in Salzburg, we tried to reserve a table in the Zwettlers, but unfortunately they were already full for that night. Sophie, who answered our e-mails, was very helpful and tried to offer us some alternatives, so finally we decided on another night there. It was very much worth to have dinner... More

Visited for dinner during our Christmas Market trip & managed to get a table without a reservation. Unfortunately it was in the smoking section but at least we were right by the door so got some air coming through :) We both opted for the roast meats & potatoes with sauerkraut & beers to wash it down with. The food... More

This restaurant offers Austrian dishes. We went there twice and everything was very good, from the classic Wienerschnitzel to the sausages. Desserts very good too. Prices are not high and portions are more than adequates; good service, maybe a little on the slow side.
