10 minutes drive from center of Salzburg this beautiful typical romantic Austrian restaurant from 15th century. During summer try to book your table in the garden under the chestnut trees. Very friendly and competent service. Excellent Austrian food such as Tafelspitz from organic beef. Very good wine selection. Approx. 60 Euro incl. wine per person. Good value for your money.

Every time I visit Salzburg I love to go there for the famous "Tafelspitz" (boiled beef, served in broth). Great service, awesome wines and the comfortable setting of a typical Austrian "Stube" makes that place always a highlight.

First time in Salzburg and a resident of the city suggested we go there. So glad they did. It was lovely. We sat outside in the garden area as the weather was glorious that day. Our server was very good although her translation of the menu into English had a few errors but nothing of a serious nature. Three of... More

After receiving new ownership, Schloss Aigen is still the place to go for great food, superb wine selection and very friendly, experienced service. The ambience ties in greatly with the charming location and history of Salzburg, Austria. Visiting friends and looking for something special we decided on Schloss Aigen. Even though a table reservation is recommended, we just gave it... More

We are in Salzburg several times a year. Finally decided to try this restaurant after it changed owners awhile ago. The service was non existent the tafelspitz was dry the server forgot to put the juice on it. We were still having wine after dinner but she proceeded to bring coffee even though we told her to wait. The owner... More

Every year I visit Salzburg with my family to see old friends and enjoy the City and its surrounding’s and every year we have to visit one of our favorite restaurants in this city, Schloss Aigen. Since the new owners have taken over the place got cleaned up and got a fresh coat of paint, not to destroy the old... More

After visiting this great restaurant for many years, we were cautioned that the new owners were not up to the former proprietors. We waited a while to give the new people a chance; but, the cautions were well founded. The food, while similar to what made this so special for its boiled beef, was good; but, diminished by the poor... More

This restaurant is delicious! We went there on the evening of Christmas, after quite a big lunch, thinking we wouldn't be hungry enough for dinner, but quickly changed our minds when we saw the menu! The first impression when you walk into this restaurant is how warm and fun and family friendly it seems! Think roaring fire in the fireplace,... More

We had a very good evening at Schloss Aigen. It was a few minutes by taxi from our hotel. The staff were especially friendly - full of Gastfreundlichkeit. This is largely a meat restaurant set in two quaint rooms. You can choose from many different cuts of beef. Our meal was excellent and we had a very good Austrian red... More
