I have never written a review before but I thought this restaurant really deserved recognition for its excellent service, outstanding food and great location. Haven eaten in many great restaurants over the years this was up there with the best. The presentation, ingredients and tastes were perfection! Our waitress was extremely attentive and explained each course to us thoroughly. I... More

A very pleasant change from the urban bustle of Salzburg. Meat is the focus, especially Tafeslpitz which you can order as a package starting with a clear soup with a choice of dumplings - the liver dumplings were excellent. The German menu (but not the English) also offers marrowbone in the soup which is great if you like that sort... More

In a town defined by its charm and natural beauty, this restaurant effortlessly exudes both. Great place with a rustic setting that was probably the staff quarters of the adjacent palace. Service was excellent, the atmosphere was perfect, the food was pretty good. This is a steak house and between the six of us we ordered all the beef on... More

We had made a reservation because we were informed that the new owner had turned it around . Upon our arrival , cool reception combined with confusion. Restaurant was full with was very positive and an improvement on our last visit were the place was empty. A table was found we were told to go to the bar, something we... More

After reading reviews, I booked a reservation for our party. All 5 of us were charmed by this beautiful, old world establishment. The food and service/Mr BLADER thank you/ were excellent. It is a great place to enjoy authentic austrian cuisine and gracious hospitality. Enjoy!

It is a 10-15 minute drive from the center of Salzburg, but it is worth it. Typical Austrian decor, with the wood benches, but pillows are provided, making sitting comfortable. The service is quite good. Although, they made a couple mistakes with our starters but they rectified it immediately. We were all very happy with our dishes, especially with the... More

Charming quiet mini corner in the country a few miles away from the center of Salzburg , across from Aigen castle. Lovely atmophere to start with. The terrace is large and gemütlich with lots of trees ; the interior is particularly cosy in the evening. Schloss Aigen is especially knowm for its "Tafelspitz "( boiled beef ) served in 2... More

One of the best places to have a great meal with a fantastic atmosphere. I grew up in Salzburg and every time I come back for a visit I have dinner here.

Went with friends after reading good reviews. Have to agree - this place is really good. Friendly welcome, advice offered re wines and food ensured we had a really good meal. The beef tartare as a starter is one of the best I have had and whilst the Austrian speciality of boiling beef is not normally to my taste I... More
