We sat down outside and before we had time to think had to make a decision as to what we wanted to drink. Very off hand waiter. We then ordered ice creams which were delicious in a glass with hot raspberry sauce cream with small chocolate and a banana split. They were delicious. I hadn't finished mine before the waiter... I have been to a number of cafes in Austria and this particular Furst reminds me of terrible service, waitress with bad attitude and pricey tasteless food. As we have been walking into the city for quite a while, we wanted to find a decent cafe where we could sit down and take a good break for the afternoon. We... More

As regular visitors to Salzburg and more widely in the region we tend to seek out the more local-friendly establishments. Consequently we tend to find excellent food, beer and service. On this trip I had to wait a while for my wife and chose to have a coffee at Cafe Fuerst. I selected my own table outside (this didn't seem... More

My husband an I wandered around salzburg and just had to try the original mozzart balls. I must say they are well worth buying the originals. The copies just dont have the same quality.

We have eaten here a few times on trips to Salzburg, the most recent in April 2014. One thing that has stood out on two occasions was the poor service, not from the males but from one particular female staff member. In fact she was rude to an English couple who followed us in and wished to have tea and... More

While the food certainly is good and the blue Mozart Balls are the Cafe's claim to fame are worth pursueing, pastry and cake variety not impressive compared to other Konditereis. Staff service was marginal, certainly did not go out of their way for customers, seemed more busy talking amongst themselves. Counter service pretty slow as well. Best plan buy the... More

We had two pastries, a coffee and a hot chocolate here - quite delicious. However, I agree with an earlier review from February 2014 that the waiters are quite rude and somewhat full of their own importance - it seems almost as if they are doing their customers a favour by serving them. Despite the undoubted quality of the food... More

We seemed to have easily entrenched ourselves into the Viennese tradition of wandering into a cafe to partake of cafe and tortes for a late afternoon respite. We enjoyed the people watching and ambiance of this cafe also known as Furst. A must do when in Salzburg.

On the end of the day sightseeing variety of the Salzburg sights, to take a coffee/cocoa break at Café Konditorei Fürst - Mirabellplatz was the right decision. It's only a small and unattractive patisserie, but... Here, you can really experienced the taste of chocolate! The cakes are delicious and the original handmade Salzburg Mozart-balls (Kügeln, silver-blue) are simply the best!
