Description: The Bärenwirt, located in the historic district Mülln, is one of the oldest inns in Salzburg. Hospitality plays an important role since 1663 and the traditional inn is run with a lot of personal commitment. At the Bärenwirt you enjoy traditional Austrian specialities and beer of the Augustiner Bräu, the oldest brewery of Salzburg. We recommend our fried chicken, which is known as the best one of Austria. The sunny terrace with view onto the river Salzach and the Kapuzinerberg, one of the two hills in the center of Salzburg, and the cozy guest rooms invite you to spend a relaxing and pleasurably time at the Bärenwirt. If you are planning a festivity with your family and friends the Bärenwirt provides the right offer. The package is called “Feiere dein Fest” and includes roast pork with dumpling and „sauerkraut“ and beer, which is drawn by yourself.

We were recommended to come here by our hotel and loved it . Had the feeling of a really nice pub. Very friendly service - and the food is very tasty. You wont go hungry either as the portions are very generous. I am 6'4 and love my food and I couldnt finish the roast pork/sausage/sauerkraut/dumpling dish and for c.15... More

I just cannot find a negative aspect for such typically Austrian restaurant. The frotted beer soup is to die for as are the main courses on offer especially the wild boar sausage. So tasty and filling. In fact don't go if you are not really hungry! Typical spending for a three course meal for two is in the Euro 60... More

If you are looking for a traditional Austrian menu, good service, cold beer, and a nice atmosphere in Salzburg, this is your place. Slightly off the beaten path of the tourist sights, it is worth the short walk to enjoy a meal in a more peaceful setting. Patio seating is on the river is still beautiful despite a somewhat obstructed... More

We had ordered a cold appetizer (cold cut plate of Hungarian piglet) and one entree Pork loin. Both of them are so fantastics. Firstly is the cold cut plate, we never saw so many different varieties of pig cold cut. They are soft, tasty and special, and the dip is excellent too with bread Then is the entree, we ordered... We went twice to this traditional old inn in the suburb of Mülln in Salzburg. We went twice here because the food was so good, great value for money and the service friendly. The interior is cosy and very typical of everything that is wonderful about Salzburg. The food is very typical of the Salzburg area and the draught beer... More

My husband and I had dinner here twice while in Salzburg. We really enjoyed our meal of fried chicken and potato salad. The first night we both ordered it. The second night we split it. One order is plenty of food for two people. It was delicious. I recommend reservations since they were quite crowded both times. We stayed at... More

Nice little outdoor patio. As recommended by others, I had the fried chicken with potato salad and my wife had a green salad with grilled chicken strips. We were both quite happy. Big portions. You could split the fried chicken among 2 people if you wanted to share dishes. The potato salad was quite good. Berry strudel for dessert with... More

My husband and I ate at Barenwirt during our last night in Salzburg. I had the roast pork with dumpling and sauerkraut. My husband had fried chicken salad. The fried chicken is amazing, moist, crispy, greaseless. The roast pork had excellent flavor despite being a little fatty. I believe the pork they use is local, humanely raised and antibiotic free.... More

It's not the cheapest meal I've had but the food was rather good. They should cook their vegetables a bit longer, but that seems to be a common problem in restaurants.
