This cafe is frequented by more local people than tourists. The Sunday brunch buffet is really good. Tea, coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice is included. The strudel is the best I have had in Austria.

We arrived back to our room late on a rainly evening and found other area restaurants booked or closed so we dropped into Cafe Wernbacker for a meal. The atmosphere was delightfully dated, relaxing, and cozy. Our meals were delicious. We had a risotto dish with asparagus and shrimp that was so good that we requested the recipe. The chef... More

We visited Cafe Wernbacher after checking into our nearby hotel on a cold and showery evening. We wanted to enjoy a glass or two of wine after a long train trip from Dijon, France and the concierge recommended this place. The ambience was very pleasant - warmth, decor, lighting, comfortable seating - and there were some good wines available by... More

I visit Salzburg regularly to visit friends, unfortunately one of my favourite cafes, fingerloos was closed so we went next door to the Wernbacher which was a big mistake as the waitress who served us was probably the most miserable and rudest female i have ever had the misfortune to come across, her surly and abusive manner certainly put us... A local suggested I go here for lunch. I really enjoyed the experience. I had an unexpectedly fantastic Greek salad with a beer. Instant service. The waitress knew I was a short timeline and she made every effort to expedite food service. Great local food. Not packed with loud tourists.

Hi all, called in for lunch and had the best schnitzel ever. My wife had the goulash which she couldn't finish, big portions, great atmosphere.

Visited the cafe for lunch. Ordered the wiener schnitzel, roasted corn chicken on pesto noodles, and a sachertorte. Price came up to €18 per person, which was considerably reasonable because the portions were huge. Food was served very quickly and the wait staff were quite efficient too. There is free wifi and restroom to use. They have quite a variety... More

We had a sunday brunch at Cafe Wernbacher and really liked it. Good selection of basic breakfast/brunch items and nice tapas kind of specialities (olives, artichokes, mozzarellasalad etc). Our little boy loved strawberries and cakes. Price was 18 €/adult, 2,5 year old kid ate free. Definitely worth visiting!

We went to this restaurant based on the reviews on TA. It was generally good. The menu is quite small. There seemed to be very few traditional dishes on the menu. Partner loved his schnitzel .... I thought the steak sandwich was ok. A bit on the small side. Salad and beer was great. Would recommend the apple crumble cake... More
