A bit of Italy before we head for Venice

We have had three wonderful dinners now in Salzburg. This Italian bistro has an interesting concept that works... No menu - simple, do you want red or white wine? (the white was very nice, so we had a second half liter); do you want the antipasta (the answer should be yes - they cut the meats... read more

When we were walking by the restaurant one evening and saw how crowded it was, we decided to give it a try the next day. It was almost full again, it seems to have a good reputation. At first, we were a bit disappointed by the limited choice - they only had 3 types of pasta, but then we understood... More

If you are travelling to Austria and Salzburg. This little small resturant is a must! I never saw a menu but they tell you what they have. My tip is to start with a plate of antipasto. There you have some ham, sausages, cheese, cold fried veggies like Aubergine and Zucchini and more. It is never the same twice. Then... More

So we're sitting in Salzburg having eaten in some great places over the last weekend and I spy this gem whilst walking through the new town. Looked on Trip Advisor last night and booked this morning through the hotel we are staying in. Good job we booked too as even though it was a Monday evening there wasn't a spare... More

we really enjoyed the simple but good Italian food they served. Delicious antipasti, good wine and tasty pasta. Lovely pannacotta with strong espresso sealed the deal. If ever again in Salzburg this is a must place to go for a dinner. The place is small so be prepared for a hot and crowed atmosphere!

I have probably eaten at at Pasta e Vino 8 times and while my experiences varied, the food was always solid and well prepared. You go here because you want italian food or are tired or Pork. During the day it is a deli with fresh pasta and antipasta, During the night it is a restaurant. They only make 3... More

What an outstanding dining experience. The restaurant is quite small and the waiter dictates the daily specials (no menu), all of which are freshly made. Both of us have spent nearly a year in Sicily and the food we ate at Pasta e Vino was better than anything either of us has ever eaten there. The pasta was fresh and... More

Ate here during a recent trip to Salzburg. Looked up various Italian's on Trip Advisor as I knew we'd fancy something different from traditional Austrian food on one of the nights and Pasta e vino caught my eye. No menu in this place, which I thought was very cool. Just antipasti to share and then 3 different types of Pasta... More

We arrived in Salzburg on a bank holiday weekend so most places were fully booked but luckily a member of staff at our hotel recommended and booked us a table at this restaurant if we were able to go immediately, approx 7.15 pm. The restaurant was snug and appeared to be fully booked, mainly with locals . There is no... More
