The "Sternbrau" is located right in the middle of the Old City of Salzburg, next to the world-famous Getreidegasse and Mozart's birthplace. Since 1542, the "Sternbrau" step by step has become the biggest and most popular traditional beer inn of Salzburg. Since October of 2014, the whole restaurant complex is fully renovated and now offers an outstanding variety of eleven halls and parlours with a unique mixture of tradition and modernity. We serve typical Austrian cuisine with a modern twist, our home-brewed unfiltered beer and our own Austrian red and white wine.

Superb

I came here with my mum for a light lunch and a drink after touring Salzburg all morning - it was just what we needed! Very friendly waitresses (also happy to help with English translations), immaculate decor, fast service, great price, excellent quality, couldn't ask for more! The green onion soup... read more

Their service seems like they could care less if you come or not. Some of the other servers did seem more attentive than ours, but we had very little positive to say when we left. Food was okay but nothing you can't get somewhere else where they're friendly and less expensive.

Took the kids here after seeing many sights. The waiter was helpful, found an English menu without us asking. Beer was great. Food was great too, and each plate brought a new type of potato (fried, baked, boiled, salad). Perfect for a family, the waiter told us the kids choices and the food was quick even though the place was... More

This restaurant was not on our original list of places for lunch but was recommended by our tour guide. Turned out to be an excellent choice. The restaurant is in a large shady courtyard with excellent food, good service and the cleanest most modern restrooms we have ever seen. Our waiter spoke very good English and was very helpful. Prices... More

This is the only place I know, you can buy Ausrian Tappas. You can try more than one inexpensive dish, to taste the variety of the Austrian cuisine. From Schweinebraten to Bratwurst along with a cold homebrewed beer. You will find something. All this in the new Stern lounge. One of five restaurants in Sternbräu, right in the heart of... More

Salzburg is a ghost town on a Sunday! We were looking through all of the top recommendations on Trip Advisor but the restaurants we tried were shut. Stumbled across this place purely by chance, looked quite nice from the outside and had quite a few people inside so gave it a go. Glad we did, food was nice, very traditional... More

Been here over decades. It was a classic then and still is now. Downstairs still the original dining hall, upstairs a new galleria with big windows, lots of light, modern a kid corner with table soccer, air slammers and others. Perfect to keep your kids busy while you taste the original beers, the Salzburg food all the way to the... More

Had a turkey Wiener Schnitzel with potatoes, which tasted amazing! The atmosphere is really nice and I appreciated there being a non smoking part of the restaurant. The toilets are also worth having a look at ;) gorgeous restaurant, if a little on the pricey side.

Appalling service at this restaurant AVOID SOUNDS OF SALZBERG SHOW. We had booked the Sounds of Salzberg dinner show on line at this restaurant. We checked out on line that this was a reliable restaurant. We arrived and without notice, the show had been cancelled and we were not informed. On arrival at the restaurant, the Manager was abrupt and... More

It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in March when we stumbled upon this little brewery with a cute outside seating area. At first glance it all seemed to fit... Until the waiters entered the stage. Unfriendly , unprepared, unprofessional ... In short horrible service. We waited an approximate of 15 minutes for our first order to be taken. When we... More
