Wonderful views and tasty beer

The location of this restaurant is top notch. There are a couple of different levels and it seems to be built into the side of the mountain. The servers were quite friendly. When we visited it was during the music festival and you could hear the music from the square below. The place is really... read more

We stopped by after our visit to the Fortress. It was a great break and a wonderful selection of Stiegl beers. We had a snack which was good, and service was wonderful. Views from their terrace on a sunny day are worth the stop

We called from our Hotel and made a reservation at this place on a Sunday evening. When we went we found out that in this really big place it was us and another table. The food was good, service the same, prices average, but when you are in an empty restaurant it just doesn’t feel right. My advice, avoid the... More

We visited the place on our way up to the fortress. As we were unable to make it to the Steigl brewery, we thought this is a good alternative for the Steigl experience anyway. The place is huge. With big and nice outdoor area. We sat at the terrace that is sheltered but feels somewhat outdoorsy. With amazing view of... More

On our way up the road to the fortress we stopped at the Stiegkeller for lunch, along with many of the traditionally garbed locals who were part of the St. Rupert Festival! The wait staff also donned lederhosen, so the set was complete! The food was great and the tall windows overlooked the valley below.

One of the oldest restaurants in Salzburg. Very nice building and good beer. It's at the center and you can feel the local tradition.

Of course, finest food, but with a view across the city. Enjoy the indoor restaurant as well as the shady lookout garden. Just minutes from the city center and 50 meters from the mountain railway (to the fortress) base station.

Lovely beer keller with great views over the old town of Salzburg. in the colder months you've got plenty of choice for seating and eating indoors and in the summer months you need to get out on one of the terraces. great food too. had a lovely schnitzel there washed down with a number of Stiegls ! the food changes... We popped in here on a Sunday evening after touring the nearby fortress. We did not have a reservation, and did not hink we needed one. But after not finding anyone to seat us, we just decided to seat ourselves in the casual bar table area. This was totally fine, except service continued to be poor. The good: beer and... More

Just had beers here. What else do you need? Actually went down to the beer tent and had some unpretentious Austrian beer hall food, followed by a visit from the schnapps girl. Good times had by all, and the oompah band. Would recommend.
