It is a place you should definitely visit when in Salzburg. 3 big, open space halls, with sharing table where you can have food and lots of beer. Everything is self service here. Find a sit in one of the halls, and then visit any of the numerous food shops and buy your meal, For drink ... beer, beer or... More

The Augustiner Braustueberl is to be preferenced over some of the less traditional, more commercial brewery options (i.e. Stein Brewery World) - it is perfect for anyone looking to experience a traditional beer hall. There are very few tourists here, mostly locals visiting - a number of city buses stop outside the brewery, there is extensive parking, or it is... More

If you're in Salzburg you have to go here. What a fantastic experience! An old monastery converted into a huge beer hall with fantastic beer and food. Plenty of locals there and off the beaten track, so don't tell too many friends so we can keep it to ourselves!

As I said in the title, the place was very nice, very particular becaus of its location in an old abbey. The beer was ok, nothing special. The real problem was the food, I really don't recomand to eat there.

This place established the "beer hall paradigm". Pretty straightforward process: pick out your mug, step up to the tap and then find a seat. Stick with the two types of spreadable cheese (last stall), ham and of course a pretzel (or two)

About a 15-20 minute walk from the old town to the brewery. Very authentic beer hall experience. There were 4 large halls that we saw, two smoking, two non. When you walk in, grab a cup, rinse it out, then head to the cashiers to pay for the beer. Only two options--6 euros for 1L of a lager, 6.80 euros... More

Well worth a visit. Great beer, great atmosphere, It's a very special place to have a drink in. We didn't eat but there seemed to be plenty of variety of food to buy at the venue. Will be back again soon I hope.....

This is an authentic brewery setting with small stands/counters to purchase sausages, bread, pickles/vegetables and other items to eat. You are also free to bring your own food in. Beer and Soda must be purchased. Finding a table can be a challenge as locals make reservations and the halls/saals fill up fast. There are smoking and nonsmoking hall options. Be... More

We ventured up the hill to find this place and it was worth the hike. We grabbed a couple of beers and made some food choices from the vendors and enjoyed watching the locals visit with friends and family. This is the kind of place we'd like to have at home.

Not a surprise: This is primarily a beer drinking place. Everything else is secondary. Your beer and food you need to pick up by yourself from outside of the huge drinking halls. The food is sold at stands like on market place and you can mix and match things from various stands. Also bringing your own food is allowed and... More
