Great to check out...but not for too long!

I'm glad that we stopped in here for an hour to check out the local culture. It's very fun to grab a mug, rinse it in the fountain, and drink your beer inside one of the large, noisy, halls. The food is very mediocre so I would advise drinking your beer, possibly having a pretzel or small snack... read more

Walked to this brewery from Salzburg station which is about a 20 minute walk. Nice building where you sit and have a beer. Beer its self served in an old Stein which you go up and get yourself . Beer wasn't the nicest to be honest. Had no taste to it. My friend also said the same. There are several... More

A great place to visit when in Salzburg. This is a large beer hall and beer garden. Part of a monastery where the beer is brewed the large beer halls are full of character. There are lots of different food stalls. This is where locals dine out... Lots of atmosphere and a fun place to have dinner or just a... More

The restaurant is very cozy and welcome, the beer is unbelievable! And the pork meat was crunchy and tasty. Superb! i think it is one of the best places to enjoy the Austrian culture!

We had a long walk to this beerhouse but it was worth it. Beer and a good variety of food on offer. Could not wait for the singing but would have loved to stay.

So much history and culture in this place. This was by far the best trip-cap of my travels. The venue is a huge network of cavernous beer halls with an amazing atmosphere. They have been brewing the same beer using the same recipe since the 1500's and it's great! Furthermore, there are food stands run by locals with the best... More

Flew out specifically to have a special night out to say farewell to a work colleague who was returning home to the USA. He was surprised when we said this is where we take him. The flight and weather were great and 10 of us made the trip. A days sightseeing saw us end up here for the evening. The... More

This is definitely NOT the more touristy Hofbrauhaus (Munich), with a good mix of both visitors and locals. It is a little outside the old town area and requires a bit of a walk (or use public transit) but it is well worth seeking out if you want to experience a genuine Austrian beer hall. My visit was over New... More
