Creative food, great for a quick snack / drink

Carpe Diem is a wonderful place to stop by for a quick appetizer and glass of wine. A majority of the food is served in, essentially, an ice cream cone, which is different, but fun to try. The restaurant at Carpe Diem is upstairs from the very nice and busy bar area on ground floor. Restaurant is Michelin rated and we had the tasting menu...the food was first class....and the wine pairings by the sommelier were spot on! We had the pleasure of experiencing some very fine wines that - not being Austrian! - we had no... More

We have been three times in zhis restaurant, the food has been always been very good and the fingerfood is very tasty and creative, The only thing I think is that the prices have been going high while the portions have been reducing their size.

This place was recommended to us by a waiter in Munich, and it did not disappoint! We went with no reservations and were offered a table in the traditional restaurant or the bar area for "fingerfood". These were fingerfoods only in that they were served in small portions so you could have samplings of a variety of food. I would... More

If you want to enhance the already amazing experience of Vienna - this is the place! A very friendly and professional staff will serve you beautifully arranged top notch cuisine... all that we ate was marvellous. .. Try to order as many different dishes for the menu and you would go through a well worth adventure. Enjoy!

stopped here for lunch. A well decorated bar, had a good window seat, and although we were unable to sit outside due to the snow it looked like a good seating area. Good drinks, and a different type of food offered, very good for a light lunch. The only thing that spoilt it for us was the indoor smoking, which... More

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Salzburg and will return back soon. The problem with smoking indoors will hopefully soon be solved as the Austrian legislative will also forbid this. All the best & Carpe Diem! More

We wanted to find a place for a small snack to make it until dinnertime that did not involve roasted meat. We had the black cod, yellow tail/hamachi, dim sum and boiled beef, octopus. All were tasty, and nice presentation and small plates. The hamachi and the black cod were the best, and the dim sum was our least favorite.... More

The fingerfood was beyond amazing. Extremely tiny portions, only a bite or two, at most. Do not go if you are hungry. Also expensive, for quality, it makes sense. For quantity, it doesn't. Also, we sat upstairs in the non-smoking, but left smelling of smoke and eyes watering. Very unpleasant dinner if you're a non-smoker.

Thank you for your feedback that we do estimate. Unfortunately we currently have no other possibility to separate non-smokers from smokers area but there might be a government decision within the next months anyways. Then all venues will be strictly non smoking. We hope to see you again somewhen in Salzburg and the Carpe Diem Finest Fingerfood. More

Sightseeing in Salzburg was a lot of fun and improved by the excellent coffee in the downstairs bar. We noticed the Fingerfood menu in the bar and booked a table upstairs for lunch that day. One if the best places in Salzburg to have a cup of coffee, or brunch. It's owned by Mateschitz, so you can be sure that everything is on a very high level.
