To what I heared, the owner / founder of RED BULL is the owner of this very nice Location. Especially from 05:00 PM onward it becomes the place of "the nice and beautiful" Unique are the COBES. You can choose several courses and don't get fed-up. However, the Austrian specialty "Wiener Schnitzel" (vertainly not served in a cone) only gets... More

A lovely place to stop for a drink and to rest your feet, we did have something to eat and the food is finger food style, the food looks and tastes lovely, just quite small for the prices you pay.

I like this place: tried it out both for breakfast and for dinner (they offer a good selection of the fingerfood is and everything was tasty). And also just for a drink - unexpected choice of port vine. But it's about ambience and people - quite posh, quite expensive and never really empty. It's a popular place for an evening... More

We had dinner last night and really enjoyed it. It's a very casual fine dining experience. We ordered and before our appetizers arrived the kitchen sent not one - but two rounds of different treats. First was a unique burger / cone / mashed potato concept. (Tasted better than I can describe). The meats are cut table side and for... More

We never actually ate a meal here, but they have an excellent front deck at the end of the Getreidegasse. We came here several times during our visit to sit, relax, and enjoy coffee or a beer while smoking one of those great Cuban cigars This is a great central location from which to split up a larger group, go... We went to Carpe Diem to have a bite to eat, around 19.00 hrs. When we entered the building it was already quite crowded. When entering, the smoke smell was very prenetrant! What a shame that such a nice place does not make use of a non-smoking policy. This is really not up to European standards! People who do not... More

A brilliant and atmospheric bar/restaurant in Salzburg that's definitely worth a visit. Not for the feint of pocket, but they do have a Michelin star in the restaurant upstairs, so the bar food is naturally of extremely high quality. Try the cheeseburger in a cone!

Looking for something that was not 'fast food' or 'wurst-based' we happened in Carpe Diem. A little put off by the smoky atmospheres we came in but upstairs is non-smoking. A well-stocked bar and their signature 'finger food' which will not satisfy a raging hunger but is much more than a snack and very tasty and out of the ordinary.

We were in Salzburg for 5 days over New Year. We visited this establishment at least 5 times, one of which was to eat upstairs. On the 4 other occasions we went just for a drink and, when we eventually gained a seat, really enjoyed the atmosphere. This is a very, very popular bar with expert bar people and reasonable... More

When I discovered my original dining choice in Salzburg was closed for the Christmas holiday, our hotel (Hotel Bristol) suggested this restaurant instead. After reading Trip Advisor reviews I was careful to specify that we wanted a reservation upstairs in the fine dining section, away from the buzzing smoky bar scene. Indeed when we arrived, people were shoe-horned in the... More
