We thoroughly enjoyed dinner at Carpe Diem - finest fingerfood - we had booked many weeks in advance upon a friend's recommendation and were not disppointed. The night did not start well, as when we arrived promptly for our table we were told that due to a major concert event they were full, and we would have to wait perhaps... More

Food was good. One of the lady staff was so arrogant that she blatantly insinuated we could not afford the prices despite us reiterating that it was not our first visit. She insisted, persistently, to study the menu first ,therefore I suppose, the cost, and then,“Do you want to dine here?“ We had promised our guest a dining experience so... More

We have enjoyed eating and drinking in the downstairs bar at Carpe Diem, but had not realised that there was a gourmet restaurant upstairs until recently. On our recent visit we sampled the tasting menu, which was superb. Wonderful flavours, unobtrusive service and a lovely ambience. It is not cheap, but represents good value for a special occasion.

I would never normally rate badly due to the actions of a fellow patron but the people next to us appeared to be staff off duty/Management/Owners who insisted on chain smoking next to us despite the fact that we had a 10 month old baby with us. Perhaps we are over sensitive because we come from a country where you... More

Carpe Diem is on the western end of the main walking street of Salzburg, located near the posh boutiques, with lounge outdoor area, and exclusively decorated interior. The ground floor is a bar with plenty of standing and high-sitting space, and a few tables in one corner. There is a restaurant on the first floor, but we didn't try it.... More

Perfectly located for Festival performances, the restaurant offers the perfect antidote to traditional, heavy Austrian food. The menu offers a variety of small plates; the flavors of each dish were clean and delicate; the portion sizes were just right; and one can order more or less items, depending on the individual's preference at the time.

We decided to spend our last night in Salzburg, dining in the gourmet restaurant upstairs. And we were so happy we decided to spoil ourselves. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were remarkable, very generous and accommodating. It was everything that food lovers, like ourselves, love in a dining experience.

If you visit Salzburg do not miss hanging out at Carpe Diem! Not necessarily for dinner (vice verse is the Hotel and Restaurant Blaue Gans located; pls have dinner there) but for Champagne (Brut rose) or for a late night drink. Location and ambience are special as you can see lots of interesting people. Located in the famous Getreidegasse the... More

At Carpe Diem you have a choice of many small plates, all of which look and sound delicious. I had a lamb and tzatziki dish which left me wanting more. But by having a "small" plate I was able to have a delicious green tea ice cream with fresh field berries..wonderful. The latte was without doubt the creamiest that I... More
